History of Lennox Dinnerware
Lenox started as a ceramics art company in 1889, whose founder, Walter Scott Lenox, created some exquisite porcelain that became a part of the Smithsonian collection.
It wasn't until the early 20th century trend of fine dining that he created custom dinnerware pieces painted by William Morley to rival the established European brands. By 1906 the company started creating entire dinnerware sets. Standardized patterns started in 1910, but the Holiday pattern was introduced only in 1974 and it remains a best seller today.
