Beer Themed Gift Ideas to Toast Your Sweetheart

Updated on October 16, 2013

Give Beer Cheer

Manly-man beer drinkers will be thrilled with a beer-themed gift. So give them the gift of beer and a toast too.

Bundle their most favorite brew with unique beer accessories, tuck them into a beverage container along with beer snacks, and a love note and you've got a winning combination for your Valentine.

All that's left is a toast to your Valentine.

Propose a Toast

Chuck the chocolate. Don't waste your money this Valentine's Day on candy he doesn't want or books he won't open. Surprise him with something he'll find irresistible - a beer themed gift tub full of Valentine cheer.

Add a personal love note and you've given your gift a romantic twist.

So, how to do it, you ask?

First: Find his favorite beer. Don't know what he likes? Do some research - pay attention and take mental notes. This will all pay off in time.

Second: Find interesting and unique accoutrements to compliment the beer. Don't have a clue what to get? Well that's what this guide is for. Help is on the way!

Third: Find a container to hold the items Instead of a basket use a metal beer tub or a mini cooler; something he'll use for his beers in the future.

Fourth: Write a love note. More help on this part below.

Toast your sweetheart!

For your Beer Lovin' Manly Man

Irish Beer Bucket Gift Basket

For the lover of the amber liquid, why not give an assortment of Irish, German or Guinness brews?

How about a chocolatey brew? Local microbreweries have interesting seasonal varieties to try such as O'Fallon Brewery's Chocolate Cherry and Cocoa Latte beers. Samuel Adams makes a Chocolate Bock Boston Beer, and award winning North Coast Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout is said to have chocolate and coffee aromas.

Why not go the romantic route with Sweetwater Happy Ending Imperial Stout.

Another beer gift that's often a big hit is the Beers Around the World International Assortment. You can find it a many quality liquor stores.

Finally, what guy wouldn't love the Beer of the Month Club ? Each month he'd be reminded of your thoughtfulness with the delivery of outstanding beers.

Accessorize the Beer

Now that you've picked your beer or ale it's time for the accoutrements. Does he like layering his beer the Black and Tan way? Maybe he'd appreciate the Black and Tan spoons, complete with recipes for layered beer drinks. He'd love special beer glasses, made to keep the brew cold, or even an insulated tote case for a 6 pack. What about beer steins engraved with his initials? Chips and salsa, nuts, or the Wisconsin Beer Cheese Collection (shown above)

all are great pairings with a crisp cold beer.

Some Ideas to Get you Started:

Wine Enthusiast Steady-Temp Double Wall Beer Glasses, Set of 2
Wine Enthusiast Steady-Temp Double Wall Beer Glasses, Set of 2

These double walled beer glasses gives the beer the appearance of floating on air. They're insulated to keep beer cold no matter how long you hold it. These are big - 16 Oz - and made for big, manly sized hands. These hand blown crystal glasses are dish washer safe.

Guinness Pub Glasses, Set of 4

These glasses are made to hold a pint of Guinness perfectly. They're the authentic version seen in every Irish pub. Set of four

Brutool Lagerhead Black & Tan Turtle

Does he like layering his beer? The Black and Tan Turtle is made specially to make layering easy. It's made of stainless steel and also can be used as a bottle opener. Ten recipes included. Some of the proceeds from this Black and Tan Turtle go to the turtle habitat preservation.

Guinness Bread Mix, Grocery, 14-Ounces (Pack of 3)
Guinness Bread Mix, Grocery, 14-Ounces (Pack of 3)

He'll like this Irish-style brown raisin beer bread. This bread is more flavorful the day after baking. Contains 3 packages.

Growlers for the Home Brewers

Does your guy dabble in beer brewing? Does he enjoy pub crawling at micro breweries? He may love a growler! These snap top lids make transporting your own home brew or that of a micro brewery easy. The transport unit holds three growlers in place, too.

Tip: pick a growler that's dark in color so sun light doesn't get to the beer and change the taste, and also look for a wide mouthed growler for easy pouring.

Supplies for the Home Brewer

Every supply he'd ever need for home brewed beer is available online. Did you know you can even purchase hops on the internet? Well now you know.

The Best Way to Wear your Beer - Beer Beauty Products for the Sophisticated Beer Guy

These are products your guy most likely would never buy for himself. Once he tries them, he'll be glad you did.

Now Pull Everything Together - Tubs to Hold your Beer Themed Gifts

You have the beer, snacks, and the interesting and unique beer accessories, right?

Now corral a container for your gift basket.

It can be a steel beverage tub, small cooler or tote bag.

One Last Thing to Do - The Love Note

Ok, so far your job has been easy, but now you're going to have to put some effort into this love note. So many times we assume he knows how we feel. (Come on, you know how meaningful it is to see words of admiration put to paper.)

So, get the lead out and write. Need some inspiration? Here are a few ideas:

- Write about the first time you met, or the first time you realized he was special and why.

- Write a letter about how you see your lives 5 or 10 years from now.

- Tell him how you appreciate the special little things he does for you and name them.

- Starting with each letter of his name, find an adjective that describes him.

- Make a list of overlooked and unmentioned things you love about him.

- Give him compliments in a rhyme.

- Make coupons to be redeemed for select treatment.

Here's a big tip: Once you actively start looking for positive qualities on which to compliment him, your eyes will be opened to so much more and you're gratitude will increase. So pay attention and make mental notes the next time he exhibits praise worthy behavior. Guess what? It's cyclical: watch for things to be grateful for and your gratitude will grow and inspire him to do more.

Now, Raise the Glass and Toast your Valentine

Thank you for dropping in. Leave a comment if you'd like. It will make my day.

Do you think your Valentine would like a beer themed gift? - Are you going to write a Valentine's Day love note?

Some great ideas here. Personally, I am ok with just beer - accessorizing is a (small) bonus. More beer would be good though.

This is a good idea if you have a beer loving sweetie. Have you ever looked up beer poems? Might be fun to put in a card for your beer lover. I checked out "beer poems" on google and found a bunch. Nice!
