Best Christmas Gifts for Tea Lovers

Updated on September 29, 2014

Are you looking for a holiday gift for the tea lover in your life?

I drink both hot and cold tea, and drink it every day. I never learned to like coffee, so tea is my caffeinated beverage of choice. If you know someone who loves tea, and you're looking for a Christmas or Hanukkah gift for them, you've come to the right place. Below are some of the best ideas for gifts for people who love tea this holiday season.

You can buy this beautiful Japanese teapot on Amazon. It's a beautiful display piece that will also help the tea lover in your life make a perfect cuppa.

Electric Kettle

I used to boil water on the stove or put a mug in the microwave, but probably the best tea purchase I ever made was an electric kettle for heating up water. If you want to really impress the tea lover in your life, the Cuisinart Electric Kettle will heat to different temperatures based on what kind of tea you are making. I can't imagine anything more perfect for someone who drinks tea. For instance, it will boil water for black tea, but only heat it to 175 degrees for green tea (boiling water makes green tea bitter). What a great gift!

The Cuisinart is almost $100, so it would be the perfect splurge gift for someone special.

I have the Aroma Electric Kettle, which is a pared-down electric kettle. It heats up water incredibly fast, looks sleek and modern, and fits with any kitchen style or decor. It's one of the most used appliances in my kitchen. It's much more basic than the Cuisinart, but it does the job. It usually costs about $30, and is a great functional and stylish stainless steel kettle for any kitchen.

Hot and Iced Tea Makers

If you want to get something for your tea lover for the holidays that is more like a coffee pot, this Breville One Touch Tea Maker is a perfect gift to purchase. This heats up the water, like the electric kettle, but it adds a pocket where the tea can steep in the same container. At about $250, this is not an inexpensive gift, but if you know someone who drinks tea every day, it will get a lot of use. The tea maker gets glowing reviews from everyone.

Though I don't have a Breville (yet!), I do own this Takeya Iced Tea Maker Set and I love it. It's one of the best purchases I made last year. You pour in hot water and add tea bags into the lid infuser. Once your tea is done steeping, you can unscrew the infuser and put the whole container in the refrigerator. Added bonus? The bottom is shaped like an elongated circle in order to fit on the door of the refrigerator. Genius!

At only $40, this will be one of the best purchases you could make for the tea lover in your world. I particularly enjoy iced tea in the hot summer months, and I used my Takeya all summer!

A man without tea in him is incapable of understanding truth and beauty.

-Japanese proverb

Tea Cup with Infuser and Lid

The Forlife Tea Mug with Infuser is definitely on my Christmas list this year. Why? In addition to being a stylish and fun mug for your tea, it also includes an infuser to steep each tea cup separately. This makes it easy to steep loose tea leaves as well as bagged tea. The tea mug also comes with a lid to keep it warm. At about $20, it's not cheap for a mug, but everyone who owns one gives it a great review on Amazon.

The cup itself is made of ceramic, holds 15 oz of liquid, and comes in a variety of fun colors. The infuser is stainless steel. I love the mandarin and the red, but there are so many colors, it will be hard to choose. Buy a couple -- the tea lover in your life will love them!

Tea Samplers

One of my favorite decadent teas is Tea Forte, and they have the perfect sampler tin to introduce this great tasting tea to someone who loves tea. Not only is a great tasting cuppa, the packaging is beautiful. The tea bags are in the shape of a triangle, so it can stand on the bottom of the tea mug.

These are beautiful tea bags, and I can tell you that they make a wonderful hot cup of tea. They are one of my favorites, but I never buy them except for special occasions. The holidays is a great time to buy a sampler set.

Tea Organizer

As a tea lover myself, one item I've always wanted was a wooden tea organizer. I particularly like this one from Lipper, with a glass top and several compartments for different types of tea. This way you can split up the black teas from the herbal ones, so you don't accidentally drink an Earl Grey when you meant to pick out a Sleepytime Tea!

I love the look of these wooden tea organizers, and everyone I know who has them says they are wonderful. What a great gift it would make for the tea lover in your life.

Do you have a present for a tea lover in your life?

These are lovely gifts and beautifully presented.

My daughter had tea at Harrods on her once in a lifetime trip to England. She brought some back with her and wishes she's brought much more. At 25 pounds for shipping, she's not likely to order it online!
