What Gifts do 14 Year Old Girls Want?

If you want to make a teen girl happy you will have to keep up with teen trends as they get to be really picky at this time of their life.

14 year olds can be particularly hard to shop for as their hormones are raging and they change their mind every other second.

I've talked with a few teens and they explained what's hot and what's not and what would make most of them happy.

If they loved the movie they will love the books even more (plus they'll get to know what will happen in the last movie).

Hunger Games are All The Rage!

Hunger Games are a big deal right now. Most of girls in their teens will love it if you get them the book set, DVD or anything related.

I enjoyed the movie and books equally. Books are well written and the plot is an interesting one - teens will be able to relate to some aspects of it and we adults just enjoy it from a different angle. The movie adaptation did the books justice (which is rare nowadays) and I for one can't wait to see all three.

14 Year Old Girls Love Hair Products

They Like Making Their Hairdo

Some of the top hair products on their list are hair chalks, curling wands, hair straighteners and simple, not flashy hair accessories.

With the latest hair trends I think the hair chalks are the best pick as with them girls can easily do their ombre hair which will stand out or color their locks to express their personality.

Plus it's only temporary as it lasts up to 3 days.

What About a Book About Hair Styling?

They give a lot of attention to their hair and hairstyle so a book that will show them how to make the perfect hairdo will make them happy.

Fabulous Teen Hairstyles: A Step-by-Step Guide to 34 Beautiful Styles is a great book with simple to follow step by step instructions on many cool hair styles for day to day style and special occasions. You can preview this book (as well as many others) on Amazon to see what it has to offer.

A Nice Little Handbag

Most teen girls have their own cell phones and they need a small purse in which they'll keep it safe along with other valuable stuff when they hang out with their friends.

If you're not sure what her style is go with a neutral color such as brown as this works well with pretty much every girl.

If you want to make them super happy be sure to leave a dollar or two (or more) in one of the pockets of their new bag.

Jewelry Making Kit is a Hit

Let Them Be Creative

Lots of teen girls love to do crafts so a jewelry making kit is a fun gifts for them.

Rainbow Loom is currently super popular but some of the girls I've talked with say they aren't really into the whole rubber band thing so a set with fabric strands and regular beads is a better choice.

Then again you can also get them both as these sets aren't all that expensive.

Polishes, Make Up, Perfumes - They Want it All

While some parents already allow make up, others do not. If you're buying a gift for a friends daughter make sure her parents allow her to wear it, if they don't you shouldn't get it.

Nail polishes are a big deal at this age - the more colors the better.

Perfumes are another great pick as a gift for a teen girl. I think it's best to get a set of mini-perfumes so they'll have more to choose from and will be wearing different ones on different occasions.

Are you getting a gift for a girly girl?

Not a Girly Girl?

Video games and music CD's are a great gift both for girly girls and not so girly girls but the later will appreciate them more.

Be careful when picking out the CD as just getting something that's popular today won't do, you have to know what kind of music the girl is into.

Take Them Horseback Riding

Z, you're pretty much right. May not like everything on this page but good ideas and gifts don't have to be expensive to be heartfelt.

What about room decor? Maybe some nice bed sheets that are perfect for a nice 14 year old girl? Phone cases, headphones? This website needs to be more up- to- date.

      You guys!!!

Don't be spoiled! This is what any other kid in any other country would want. We need to stop being so materialistic. I think these gifts are fine. You are too young to be wanting all that expensive junk. Plus, you probably won't even use that stuff. Parents these days need to give children some structure. I love this page.

Looking at these ideas for my Christmas list, I wouldnwant none of these. Maybe last year I would have, but don't get a teenager a jewelry making kit unless they ask for it. Some girls don't like the look, but others might.

      Nice gifts.

I think I wrote the partner hub for this one, "4 Best Christmas Gifts for Teens". It's a completely opposite theme set.
