Holidays and Diabetics -

Problem Solved!

For the longest time, my husband, who is diabetic, used to feel a little left out and slighted when a gift basket would arrive at our house. Though he was always good matured about it, I could tell he felt bad that someone had sent something to US that had some or a lot of stuff in it that HE shouldn't eat.

That problem is now solved with these special offerings for diabetics! I am excited to have discovered these wonderful baskets that have been designed with dieters and diabetics in mind.

It's about time!

Drink Cinnamon Tea

with Your Healthy Treats

Cinnamon Tea really isn't tea at all. But it IS yummy and beneficial, too!

If your blood sugar, blood pressure, or cholesterol levels are on the high side, this drink may help!

After adding Cinnamon Tea to our diet daily, we saw a noticable improvement in my husband's blood pressure, cholestorel, and blood sugar levels.

Cinnamon has been cited as having a number of health benifits

And guess what? We really like it, and it's super easy to make, too! Isn't that nice?

Healthy Snacks for Every Day - No Added Sugars in These

While this is not a gift basket, I thought it worth mentioning here.

We have recently discovered Brothers Freeze Dried Fruit. It's a perfectly healthy sugar free snack that tastes really good. I'd recommend the variety pack, which allows you to try three different fruits. That's what we did

My husband, who is diabetic, really likes these. His favorites of this pack is the Strawberry / Banana mix. My favorite is the dried pears.

Especially for Guys - A Fine Choice for Those who Must Limit or Avoid Sugar

Here's one that's done up with men in mind.

This diabetes friendly gift pack in a handmade container, is chocked full of things guys like, but none of them should run up their sugar reading. Isn't that nice?

This one is really special!
Some of the foods included are: Broccoli Soup (vitamin C, chromium, fiber, and potassium); Cheese Crisps; Steel-cut Oatmeal (unrefined carbohydrates, fiber, and magnesium); Pistachios (vitamin E, magnesium, monounsaturated fats); Dried Strawberries (antioxidant), and four more.

Sometimes, You Just Want Chocolate

Sometimes, you just want some good old chocolate. And that includes those who must limit or avoid sugar, too.

Healthy snacks are great, but when it comes right down to it, chocolate is in a class by itself. Nothing compares to it.

So, thank goodness there are diabetic friendly sugar free chocolates.

What a treat!

Your turn! WHat do you think about these sugar free gift baskets? Do you know someone who would appreciate one of them?

Have you ever given or sent one of them to someone?

So many great ideas. I'm a diabetic and it's nice to have some sort of goodies now and then. Many of the "Sugar Free" items have sugar alcohol which tends to make me sick so fruit baskets are a wonderful idea.

The biggest problem with sugar free treats is that often the companies use Nutrasweet (aspartane) instead of sugar. My wife is allergic to it!

Instead we look at fruit, nuts, and jerky. Yes, jerky and nuts make up a wonderful basket!
