Caramel Apple Pudding Cake

Updated on October 4, 2013

Caramel Apples plus Cake = Caramel Apple Pudding Cake

Who wouldn't love the taste treat of Halloween caramel apples magically transported into an ooey gooey moist cake, served warm and topped with sweet whipped cream. A perfect apple concoction for your Halloween Night party. I've used this recipe for years. It's a oldie and goodie. No tricks, only treats with this super easy Halloween recipe.

The Recipe

Caramel Apple Pudding Cake

Caramel Apple Pudding Cake

The best of both worlds

My family actually likes the cake better than caramel apples. We love it warm. For leftover cake a few seconds in the microwave makes it just like out of the oven.

4 cups water

2 cups brown sugar

4 tablespoons butter

Mix and boil together above ingredients. Set aside.

Now prepare batter:

1/4 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1 cup chopped peeled apples

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon cinnamon

2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup raisins

1/2 cup chopped nuts

Whipped Cream

Cream together butter and sugar. Add chopped apples. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk. Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread batter into a greased 13x9x2-inch pan. Pour hot brown sugar and butter mixture over batter. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Cut in squares and serve warm with whipped cream.

This sounds like a great way for my braces-wearing son to get to enjoy the flavor of caramel apples!
