Christmas Quotes to Warm Your Heart this Holiday Season

Updated on December 17, 2015

Christmas Quotes Can Remind Us of the True Meaning

A lot of famous people have said a lot of famous and memorable things.  There's something special though, about Christmas quotes.

During the holiday season, words and deeds seem to carry more weight somehow.  People are more peaceful, more loving and are more likely to open their hearts and minds to others.  That's pretty standard, regardless of where you are.  However, when someone famous and important shares words that feel meaningful, they gain emotional importance.  Often times, we at least think about what has been said.  If it resonates with us on some level, we may find inspiration within the quote.

However you normally react, I hope that these Christmas quotes offer you something befitting the season, be it comfort, amusement, a childhood recall or some sort of inspiration.

Enjoy and Merry Christmas.

"Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful."

Quote by Norman Vincent Peale

"The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree:  the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other."

Quote by Burton Hillis

"Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas."

Quote by Peg Bracken

"Remembrance, like a candle, burns brightest at Christmastime."

Quote by Charles Dickens

"The only blind person at Christmastime is he who has not Christmas in his heart."

Quote by Helen Keller

"He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree."

Quote by Roy L. Smith

"Christmas gift suggestions:

To your enemy, forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect."

Quote by Oren Arnold

"Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childhood days, recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth, and transport the traveler back to his own fireside and quiet home!"

Quote by Charles Dickens

"Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love."

Quote by Hamilton Wright Mabie

"It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air."

Quote by W. T. Ellis

"Christmas day is a day of joy and charity. May God make you very rich in both."

Quote by Phillips Brooks

"Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time."

Quote by Laura Ingalls Wilder

“Let's be naughty and save Santa the trip.”

Quote by Gary Allen

"I have always thought of Christmas time as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time; the only time I know of in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely."

Quote by Charles Dickens

"Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of children, they are all 30 feet tall."

Quote by Larry Wilde, The Merry Book of Christmas

Yes, Don, I believe you're right about the spirit of giving. It uplifts all involved and isn't that the whole point? A win/win makes a nice Christmas present for the giver and the receiver both. And it doesn't even have cost anything, people suffering financially can still give of themselves and their time.

Thank-you for your nice comment. I hope you and your family have a beautiful Christmas.

Hi, Jill. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the quotes! I have to agree with you on your choice of favorites. They're both great. For me, those few lines summon up those feelings we seem to get extra doses of this time of year.

Thanks so much for your comment and good wishes. I hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas, too!

Thanks, Herald Dailey, for that unique and wonderful expression of love and kindness. It helps us all get the Christmas spirit. Giving is the key. If we give before Christmas to someone in need, our Christmas will be full of joy and satisfaction - remembering how much our Savior gave to all of us - which is his life and atonement for our sins.

You tied up these neat statements in a bow. Wow. It was perfect. Don White

I also love collecting quotes and I enjoyed your Christmas collection! My favorite is the one by Oren Arnold about the Christmas Gift Suggestions. I also like the quote from Norman Vincent Peale.
