French Name For Christmas Log Cake

A traditional dessert served near Christmas in France, Canada and several other former French colonies is the Buche de Noel cake (Noel refers to the birth of Christ). The yule log cake or Buche de Noel cake is presented and garnished to resemble a log in the ancient fire-festival the winter solstice.
