Best Christmas Dinnerware Sets and Dishes

Updated on July 2, 2011

During the holidays, most people take great pains to dress the dinner table with evergreens, candles and other decorations. Money is spent buying just the perfect tablecloth. And then they set down their (gulp) yellow plates with the purple grapes on them?

If you entertain at all during the holiday season, it is well worth it to invest in a decent Christmas dinnerware set. There are many traditional patterns out there from manufacturers like Lenox and Pfaltzgraff that are very popular. However, if you dare to be different you can find other beautiful dinnerware that will take you right through the holiday entertaining season.

For those just starting out without the budget for a set that serves just one holiday, there are some options out there, from fancy to casual, that will bring in the colors of Christmas but are basic enough to be used all year long.

When you are buying a Christmas dinnerware set, be sure that there are serving accessories available for it. You should also check into the warranty and return policies. And be sure that they will be making that same pattern for several years so that you can add pieces to it over time.

You are not allowed to talk to my wife! She loves her christmas decorations and has three sets of dinnerware. Her most recent collection is a Wedgewood Christmas pattern. Its pretty an all but, man was it expensive! I'd have to quit hunting if she met you!:)

Ah, but now you can, Wesley. I see you as the more casual, contemporary Waechtersbach set.

My mom used to use dinner plates during christmas that was decorated accordingly. Doing that makes you feel a little more christmas seasony. I thought about getting a set but have not yet done so.
