Christmas Gifts for Active Boys
Fun Christmas Gift Ideas for Active Boys
Do you have active boys to shop for this year? Take it from a mother of 8, 4 of whom are boys, it can be fun but challenging! My boys are very active, and finding great gifts can be challenging. There's a lot of pent up energy around holiday celebration times, and while it's fun to send them outside, it can be a bit adverse in terms of temperature. Nevertheless, I have found some great options here and there.
You can look for some of the popular choices of the ages, like bicycles and basketballs. I'm including some of my fave choices of recent years right here, along with the typical cautions needed for boys with creative minds and too much energy to manage some days! Safety first, and adult supervision as needed, please. Without further ado, my top active gifts.

I purchased in conjunction with a Black Friday sale last year for my teen and tween sons. I should have gotten one for my 7 year old, too. They were a huge hit, and we have a long open floor space where they had a blast moving around on these. A couple of serious falls in early days make it necessary to encourage helmets and elbow and knee pads. Our floor was wood, no major injuries. However, the potential is there. This is fun, not a huge package, but definitely fun and durable. Razor Sole Skate
Scooters for Active Boys
Scooters are great outdoor gifts for active kids, and my 7 year old loves hers, as does my 8 year old son. Once balance issues are worked out, these can keep kids fairly busy and entertained. Don't miss electric versions and ride on versions for older kids. Razor is really the top name for scooters, and you can expect quality. I don't bother with off brands as I've encountered disappointments. Keep helmets and pads in mind to protect your active kids.
Basketball or Soccer Equipment
Soccer and basketball both involve lots of activity, making related equipment great for an active boy. We picked up a junior backboard for my son on his 7th birthday, and it's a lot of fun for everyone. Soccer equipment, likewise, makes it easy to work out energy. You can track down backboards for different ages and needs.
Trampolines and Enclosures for Active Boys at Christmas
One of the best Christmas gifts we've picked out for our active kids is a trampoline. An enclosure is wise for the sake of avoiding falls. You should be careful of climbing instincts, though. My youngest son managed to scale the netting of the enclosure at 4 years of age. He's more trustworthy at 8. You need to set rules...one jumper at a time. Otherwise, expect headbonks or worse. Great way to get kids active during the holiday season if you have space in your yard.
Archery Equipment for Active Boys
My oldest received archery equipment a couple of Christmases ago. Be sure that you have a safe place set up for shooting, and get some hay bales for targets. I loved the archery unit in PE during my high school years, and my kids enjoy the opportunity to practice honing their skills and aim.
