Christmas Icicle Decorations

Updated on May 29, 2014

Icicle Lights & Icicle Ornaments

Icicle decorations are my favorite Christmas decorations. Why? Because they're so versatile! Icicle ornaments aren't just for hanging on the Christmas tree. I like to hang them, along with glass snowflakes, from the ceiling so that my house looks like a winter wonderland from top to bottom. I also hang them from the mantle to add a bit of dazzle.

The ornaments in the picture are available below.

Icicle Christmas Lights

Icicle Shaped Christmas Lights

These take icicle lights to the next level. Not only are they strung jaggedly to look like icicles, but each strand is shaped to actually look like an icicle. So even in the daylight, your house will look like it's covered in dripping ice and not just lights.

Each 8 foot long set comes with 48 LED bulbs set in 8 icicle shaped tubes, with each tube measuring 9 inches long. The lights inside the tubes cascade to simulate dripping.

Large Christmas Icicle Lights

Aaah! Finally! An icicle light set to ease my OCD mind. While I love the looks of the traditional icicle lights, their unevenness bugs me. These bulbs strands are set in an even pattern, one long, one short, etc.

Each nine foot long set comes with 96 LED bulbs set on 19 strings of lights in alternating lengths of 15"L, and 12"L to make them look like natural ice. This set comes with clips for quick and easy installation.

Christmas Icicle Lights

Each 9 foot long set comes with 100 mini bulbs set on 18 strings of lights in alternating lengths of 12"L, 17"L, 21"L, and 25"L to make them look like natural ice (assuming ice comes in brilliant bright colors). And you don't have to worry about broken bulbs. Even if one goes out, the rest of the bulbs will stay lit.

When choosing these light sets, make sure to read the description carefully. Some are made from traditional bulbs, while others are led bulbs. It's also a good idea to measure your house to see the length you need.

Musical Icicle Christmas Lights

Icicle lights aren't just for decorating the outside of your house. This set is made to decorate the inside, like your tree, mantle or staircase. They even play music! Choose from pure white or multi colored lights.

Each 15 foot long set comes with 20 twinkling LED lights that play 8 different Christmas songs: "Jingle Bells", "We Wish You a Merry Christmas", "Silent Night", "Deck the Halls", "Joy to the World", "The First Noel", Hark the Herald Angels Sing", and "Oh Christmas Tree".

Icicle Christmas Tree Ornaments

These 5 inch icicle Christmas ornaments each come in a pack of 36. Although they're made of shatterproof plastic, they have the shine and luster of glass. They come with gold strings for easy hanging. These look great on a Christmas tree or even hanging from the ceiling.

I've used these on my Christmas trees for years. I like to use them as an accent color. Since they're long and slender, they coordinate perfectly with my big round ornaments. And one pack of 36 seems to be enough, even for the largest trees.

Icicle Finial Christmas Ornaments

These 12 inch ribbed icicle finial Christmas ornaments each come in a pack of 4. Although they're made of shatterproof plastic, they have the shine of glass. Each is accented with mirror pieces and comes with silver strings for easy hanging.

These are lightweight so you can cover your tree with them without worrying about sagging or broken branches. They also come in a large variety of colors to match a wide range of Christmas decor. Buy them in all one color or mix and match for a colorful Christmas.

Fake Icicles

Fake icicles can add the finishing touch to your Christmas decor. These are perfect for your mantle and side tables. Bring a little winter wonderland to the inside of your home.

Decorating For A Winter Party

Use the above lights and decorations to decorate for a winter themed party.

To make it appear as though it's snowing, hang a mix of snowflake ornaments and icicle ornaments from the ceilings, using either silver thread or some clear fishing line. If your ceilings are high enough, you can also hang a string of icicle lights from it.

If you have staircase railings, you can decorate them too. Either wrap them with garland and hang icicle ornaments between the railings, or simply hang a string of icicle lights from them.

Use the glittery plastic icicles on mantles and side tables to add a touch of ice to the party.

I have both red and white icicles after finding them in a store a few years back. They just begged me to buy them so I did. I've never been sorry, they add so much to the looks of the tree. Love your selection here.
