Christmas Snow Globes

Fascinating Christmas Snow Globes

Who can forget the magic and delight of when we first encountered and handled those fascinating Christmas snow globes in our youth? I can still remember the joy and excitement when I first got to shake it up and see the interesting effects as a result.

Of course when you're young you seem to never tire or grow out of doing something over and over again, and that always seems to be the case to this day.

Now things have changed in some cases with Christmas snow globes, as they can include a wind-up handle to turn and let that do the work of making it snow, rather than all that hard work of shaking it. On second thought, that takes a little of the fun away from it.

Anyway, I've included a variety of different kinds below to bring back the memories of days gone by and to see if there are some of these fascinating snow globes you just can't live without. Enjoy!

Snow Globe of Santa Decorating Christmas Tree

What would a Christmas snow globe collection be without one or more of Santa doing something on this most important day of the year for him? In this case he's decorating the Christmas tree while his little friends seem to be frolicking around.

Musical Christmas Globe with Snowbuddies

This is a subtly colored musical Christmas snow globe that I really like. The little snowbuddies are unique and cute sitting in their chair. The soft blue and white hues work nicely.

Christmas Nativity Waterglobe

This snowglobe or waterglobe is a great one of the nativity, the reason for the Christmas season, and wonderful theme in relationship to the starting of a family. What a great day of the year to celebrate both.

Lighthouse Snow Globe

Snow globes which include more than the globe like the one below, surrounded by other objects or figures while being embedded as part of the scene, are terrific to me.

What a treat to have the snow blow around with the rest of the scenery complementing the wonderful experience.

Snow Globes of Santa, Bear and Snow Man

Here is a set of three Christmas snow globes that would go together nicely. Not only are the globes themselves fantastic looking with the figures in them, but the scenes painted on the base are very well done as well. All three can be wound up so you don't have to work as hard and as long as when you don't have a bunch of little hands to shake them up for you.

These would also work terrific as part of your Christmas decor.

Snowman Christmas Snow Globe

This is a great snow globe to me because of the three-dimensional figures at the base included in the piece.

I think it would have been better to have had the hands and hat painted in color to offset the dominance of the clear, white color. But still a nice Christmas snow globe design.

Snow Globe of Santa Carrying Bag of Toys

This is another very well done snow globe, this time of Santa carrying his bag of toys while the reindeer seem to be prancing around ready to take off again.

What's not to like about the vibrant colors and compelling look at Santa trudging through the snow as he approaches his sleigh?

Christmas Snow Globe of Nativity

Here's a nice snow globe of Mary and Joseph welcoming the Savior Jesus Christ into the world. The base holding the snow globe look great as well.

That's one thing to keep in mind when buying a snow globe: how the base is designed. That 'll determine how well it finds in with the décor because the majority of the time it won't be shaken up to create the snow effect.

If you're getting it primarily for children to play with, that's not as important, but when for part of your Christmas decorations, it's definitely something that must be considered.

Snow Globe with Polar Bear Driving Sleigh

I love this two-piece snow globe of the polar bear driving the sleigh with the reindeer pulling it.

Oops. Is that really a reindeer or a polar bear wearing a reindeer disguise? The latter I believe. Fun!

Thomas Kinkade Church and Lighthouse Snow Globes

These are terrific works from artist Thomas Kinkade of snow globes with a church building in one and lighthouse in another.

The base of the snow globes suggest these would probably work best in a more ornate setting.

Memories of Christmas Snow Globes

Weren't those a nice grouping of Christmas snow globes? It sure brings one back to memory lane and fond moments of our childhoods.

No wonder so many of us remain enchanted by these fantastic little creations which bring so much joy to mind; not only when we see them, but also as they bring us back to the magical time of childhood.
