Find Cinco De Mayo Party Ideas on Pinterest!

Updated on April 30, 2012

Find Thousands of Cinco De Mayo Party ideas on Pinterest!

Every idea my daughter has for entertaining comes from Pinterest. No kidding. At our Easter Dinner, someone asked where she got the recipe for her salad, and she replied, "Pinterest".

So, when it comes to finding Cinco De Mayo Party ideas, where should I go? Duh!

Check back often to see what else I found for my Cinco De Mayo celebration on Pinterest.

(A note about the click-able Pinterest Images below: where possible I researched the links and found the original sources. If the website says it was ok to use the image with a proper credit, I used the pin. Where I could not find the copyright information, I emailed the original website and asked for permission to use the image.)

Begin your Mexican themed party with this appetizer!

The very best guacamole recipe belongs to Mickie_G

I wrote a page with my guacamole recipe (that is my picture on the "pin") last year as I prepared it for a Cinco De Mayo party. The Pin below is from that page.

You can find my recipe (and this same image that I took) at Guacamole: a simply easy recipe!

If you would prefer salsa, go check out Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips from AllRecipes.com. I pinned it. When I make this recipe, I will take a picture of it to post here.

In the meantime, below you will find a picture of a similar fruit salsa recipe that can be found at The Girl Who Ate Everything. This blog said it is ok to use images if you link back to her website.

Guacamole serving dish:

I love this avocado shaped dish for serving guacamole on Cinco de Mayo. I you want to buy one for me, you can click the Amazon link below.

The spoon looks like a stem, doesn't it? I also like that the bowl looks like a Haas avocado--which just happens to be the best variety for guacamole! Ole!

Libations to get the fiesta going: - Margaritas anyone?

Click on the images to go to the link for the recipes or ideas that you find interesting!

  1. I actually made a Meyer Lemon Margarita using the WhiteOnRice recipe:

    Meyer Lemon Margarita Recipe

1 1/2 oz. fresh Meyer Lemon Juice (bet you could use Key Limes!)

    1 1/2 oz. Tequila

1 oz. Triple Sec (or Cointreau if you want to go "top-shelf")

    ( I also used a dash of Rose's Lime)

sea salt for rimming glass (I do not use salt)

Under the image below is a tiny link to WhiteOnRice that will take you to the directions for making this libation for May 5th.

Meyer lemons have an odd smell, not at all like a common lemon, so do not be put off. The flavor that the Meyer lemon adds to this margarita recipe is well worth the hunt for those lemons in the winter and spring. I squeezed the whole bag of lemons and froze the juice in 2 ounce containers so I could enjoy this unique margarita any time I want.

Wacky Margarita Glasses: - For glowing party memories!

Could not resist these light up glasses. Can you just see these glasses in the hands of your guests when they are outside on the deck enjoying the beautiful May evening? So glad that they are made of acrylic--won't break when dropped by inebriated party attendees. I imagine that I would wash these glasses by hand.

They will make your party glow!

The colors also match the party supplies shown below.

Trying to get permission for an image. Check back later! In the meantime, check out this party pack from Celebrate Express:

Click the image to find out more (a new window will open). I love the way everything matches and the fact that lime green is a prominent color.

  • This is a video that shows you how to make tissue paper flowers. Make them in all sorts of "south of the border" colors for cheap decorations for your fiesta.

The Party's Main Course as seen on Pinterest: - Hot tamales or chili peppers anyone?

  • Chalupa is a terrific main course. Serves a whole bunch of people. Just have all the fixin's (tortillas, lettuce, onions, salsa, chile peppers, cheeses, etc) and be ready to show your guests how to assemble it. Click the image below to find a link to the recipe.

Fiestaware!

I collect Fiestaware dishes. I definitely have enough for a party! I do need more lime green, though. (Called Lemongrass by Homer)

Fiestaware is an American tradition made right here in the USA!

Sweets for your Mexican Fiesta! - Margarita cupcakes and Sombrero cookies!

There are probably a gazillion ideas for the final course for your Cinqo De Mayo Party on Pinterest. Below you will find some that I think are truly unique and, hopefully, delicious. They look it.

Remember, there is a tiny link to the websites with the recipes under the images.

I need chocolate, though. Chocolate goes great with Mexican dishes.

Games and activities for your party on May 5th! - Fiesta on!

My husband always says we need "activities" for parties. I spend hours finding games and fun stuff to do just to satisfy him. I must admit, our parties are usually enjoyable.

Below you will find some gaming ideas or activities that I found on Pinterest that have a "Cinco" theme. Some are free, some are for sale on Pinterest boards.

Of course, you could just go and buy a pinata and a bat.

  1. These math activities are for sale. It might be fun to see if your guests can solve them after one margarita.

  4. A video that shows you how to make a "God's Eye". Are you thinking "party favors"?

Do you enjoy eating at home or out on May 5th? Do you party by yourself or with a crowd?

Do you have a favorite recipe that you pinned that I can use? Tell me and I will gladly post it! BTW, you can put any Pinterest Board on the link list below the comments.

A very interest approach to a Lens; I love Pinterest and have been known to Boycott some Lensmasters who don't like it, simply because I like to Pin Squidoo Lenses and I don't want to make those who don't angry (so it's easier for me to just avoid them but that's just me). Lol Hope you had a Happy Cinqo de Mayo!!!
