History of the Cornucopia

Where do They Come From?

Cornucopias have been around since the fifth century. The Greek god Zeus was supposedly nourished as an infant by the goat, Amalthea. While roughhousing together one day Zeus accidentally broke one of her horns. He felt so bad, he gave the horn back to her with a magical gift: the horn could grant people anything they wished for. This is why the cornucopia horn is always shown as overflowing with all manner of lushious fruits and foods of all kinds.
