Costumes for the letter U
Costume Ideas for U
When it comes to deciding on costume themes for an event, the wise host/hostess tries not to make it too restrictive so as to allow the potential guests some opportunity for freedom of choice and creativity, and a Letter Party, perhaps based on their initials or some other significant element can fit the bill
From the guest's point of view, they usually appreciate some guidance as to what sort of thing will work within the theme. This is what these Letter Lenses are about - Costume Ideas for those going to a Letter party. In this case we're dealing with the Letter U, which need not necessarily stand for Unconventional - we've put together a selection of suggestions (and we're sure that there are others) and hope that they help give you some ideas.
If you want a wider range of ideas (we have a whole host based on the name of London Underground station names), pop on over to our website where you'll find a wide range of other costume and theme ideas. Contact information can be found below.

More Costume Ideas For The Letter U
Underling - This is a term used for someone of a lower status. This does give some ideas for costumes (which is good as we are really grasping at straws for this letter!). A good costume you could use would be a servant, or even a wench costume,a maid (French Maid Costume) may also work.
Ugly Bug - Often used to go to an Ugly Bug Ball. This is a costume theme best suited to ladies. There really is not much on the market for men at all except Fly and Cockroach outfits (which are unisex anyway). If you look through this article, you will see a small selection of some of our Ugly Bug costumes. We also stock ladybird, bumble bee, dragonfly, butterfly wings for you to make up your own costume.
Underground Station - Okay, so this is also U for Unconventional. The London Undergound is world-famous, and for an Underground/Tube party, guests are invited to dress as the name of an Underground Station. There are over 250 to choose from, although not all can be conveyed through costume. Some are easy - Angel, Blackfriars for instance; Some need a little sideways thought - Napoleon for Waterloo , a Bunny Girl or Rabbit for Warren Street; Some involve costumes associated with the name - Tennis outfit for Wimbledon, Football kit for Wembley (England's main football stadium) and others go beyond the envelope - a dog or strait-jacket for Barking (as in barking mad).
Underworld - Series of films based on the war between vampires and werewolves, featuring Kate Beckinsale. Very popular costume theme, especially with the popularity of The Twilight Saga, which has a similar theme. Of course, we stock werewolf costumes and accessories, but in our modern take on vampires, you really only need some vampire teeth, although both offer opportunities for use of the special effect contact lenses on the market.
Un-dead - also known as a zombie. Many variations available - or make up your own costume using fake blood and liquid latex.
