Best Speakers for under $100

Want THE gift for music lovers, gamers, surround sound lovers? These Cyber Acoustics speakers deliver sound you can feel in your body, and they are small enough to fit in a tiny cubicle or office. But don't think small means weak sound, these speakers are crystal clear sound quality with no messy feedback or tinny sound.

I've had my set for several years, and I adore them. They are one of the best speaker sets I've had. I can watch movies, game, and listen to music at a level loud enough to wake the dead. Or go whisper quiet at the touch of the light up dial.

Read on to learn more about these awesome speakers. Pictures are all mine unless otherwise stated.

4+ Years!

I've had these speakers over two years and they still rock my world.

Cyber Acoustics Platinum Series High Performance 5.1 Speaker System

These are the best all around speakers I've ever owned. The sound is crystal clear, the speakers fit anywhere easily, and even though I've wheeled over speaker lines repeatedly with my office chair, there is no damage.

I use them exclusively on my desk, but they will work with any game system, TV, hooked up to your iPod, anywhere you need them too. Mine came with all sorts of extra cables I stored away for future use, see the description on Amazon to see them all.

What do you get? Five satellite speakers each at five watts, and a 15 watts subwoofer. In layman's terms, you will be sharing your music with those a floor above and below you depending on how high you crank them up.

For Music Lovers

I'm rocking Aerosmith's Dude Looks Like a Lady as I write this review, and I can tell you these speakers put out more roar than some concerts I've attended. So I can rock on for hours. I love just going on to You Tube and playing videos in the background while I type. So all my favorite bands for free, sweet yes?

Or you can play CDs, MP3s, it is all up to you. This speaker set will hook up to your computer, TV, music player or other electronic device. They respond faithfully to any special FX your audio package might have, and again, that is blazing sound from a small package.

The subwoofer is only ten inches tall, so it fits nicely into my setup, shown above. In case you are wondering other forms of music also sound wonderful. Can your speakers capture every thrilling note of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata<.A>?

Hear Music History

No matter if he is taking his last bow, or soaring into the operatic heavens as a new voice, you get every note. Enjoy an endless array of music with your new Cyber Acoustics Speakers.

And the winner is?

For Movie Lovers

Ever get a surround sound DVD, Blu Ray or other movie format only to suffer from inferior speakers? I still remember the first in home speaker display I saw, the speakers were huge! But the blasted Top Gun quite nicely. Let you in on a secret, so do these! Watch the Opening Scene with your current speakers.

Are you feeling the rush of excitement from the music? Are those jets as loud as the real thing? If not you are missing out! The Cyber Acoustics Platinum Series High Performance 5.1 Speaker System delivers perfect sound every time.

Don't like action? Try a classic scene like Mrs. Doubtfire Cooking. Hearing the flames, pots bubbling, and page turning? If not you need these speakers.

Like musicals or dance films?

Paired with a sweet HD screen you will be in musical nirvana. But even with normal visuals, the audio will dance around the room, pouring from all the speakers. I love to get up and dance to music, and these speakers might inspire you to dance to the music.

For Gamers

Surround Sound is vital in today's games. You need to have your head on a swivel in action games, and these speakers can deliver every tiny sound. Think of a game like Slender. If you want the fear factor to the max, you want to hear every leaf crunch and cricket.

Then every slow thud, every industrial moan. By the time you see Slender Man, you'll be sorry. Want more horror to accompany the game check out Slender Man - Documentary 2012

But maybe you like your gaming more in your face like Dead Island or Halo 4

With six speakers (OK five speakers and a huge subwoofer) you are immersed in the game like never before. Keep your computer or other speaker system on with these, and double your joy. Oh you get a video game Y adapter cable included. Sweet!

Hear games like never before

When you have surround sound and more speakers than other systems you get the full benefit of the newest games. Even game trailers become cinematic experiences, with sound enveloping you from all sides.

Control Pod

I love mine! I can easily reach over and adjust the sound level, even it the dark. The bright blue ring on top is a nice touch so I'm not fumbling into my coffee mug heater or Mr. Coffee. Yes, I have a tricked out desk. So being able to quickly grab the pod is awesome.

There are also great features, like a small switch to mute the speakers, a bass volume dial and the toggle dial for regular volume. An aux in port and a headphones port. So you can adjust your bass and your regular volume independently.

Plus with the headphone jack, you can rock your music as loud as you like without disturbing coworkers, room mates, or family members. She also has the cutest dang footpads I've ever seen soshe stays in place.

See Rave Reviews and unboxings

These are male reviewers so expect some coarse language. That aside, I give these speakers a 10 not a 7.5 as per one review. I've never had a problem with mids, sound quality on sports, films, or anything else. You need a superb sound card and music program, but with my Dell Inspiron that was a snap. Not to brag but she can walk an iPod any day of the week.

Tips for Using the Speaker System

  1. Don't freak out. Setup is a snap with the in box directions. It took me under five minutes to get them up and running.
  2. Those instructions aren't set in stone. If you need longer reach, just switch where you place your speakers, the sound will still be golden.
  3. Need even more reach? They do have longer cables for speakers at Radio Shack.
  4. That box makes a nice subwoofer stand. I'm just saying.
  5. Save the extras. You may need cords you aren't using now in the future.
  6. Getting feedback or buzzng? You may have a common problem, a ground loop. Having your cable run your internet can do that to you. Check out Audioholics for an easy fix.

Hear Every Singer

Like music where each voice adds to the sweet sound? How about bands where you can pick out your favorite member when they sing in sweet harmony? With the Cyber Acoustics speakers you'll not only hear every note, but every intake of breath.

@Dusty2 LM: My pleasure Dusty2. I've got to admit, I like Skullcandy Ink'd earbuds for personal use. They have a great sound to them and sweet bass. Not like these speakers, these babies can jump! Thanks for the visit, hugs! :)

Nice lens Nightcat. These speakers rock. Will have to add to wish list as the speakers that came with the PC are just basic speakers. Mainly use the Bose earbuds as the sound is much better. I appreciate your writing and sharing this lens. Thank You! (^_-)
