My family has diverse taste. How do I incorporate everyone's taste and not have a hodge podge tree? We made a deal a long time ago -- the main family tree (the big one in the living room) is decorated with memories: "Baby's First Christmas", Anniversaries, "I made this at school" ornaments, candy garland, personal and personalized ornaments celebrating our years together as a family. It's a great tree and I wouldn't want it any other way.

This was a fun tree to make. My kids helped me find items to show school spirit.
I had a generic silver bucket I placed the tree in and then covered it with burlap. Here are a list of some of the items we decorated with:
- To feature the school athletic teams we used: golf ball, basketball, football, baseball, volleyball, soccer ball and a track shoe.
- Some musical instruments for represent the marching band: trumpet, french horn and drums.
- We had to honor cheerleaders so we had two small pom poms in the tree.
- We also used mini bread garland from halloween (since the school colors where black and orange) to dress it up.
- For the topper, I found a small stuffed tiger. I poked a hole in his tummy and stuck to the top of the tree.

It was a hit among her friends and they loved buying her more ornaments to add to each year. This is a really fun Christmas tree theme!

Golf Tree - This was my husbands favorite tree. We had it in his sports room. I also drilled holes thru colored golf tees and strung them 4" apart on fishing line, using a dab of hot glue on either side of the tee to hold it in place. I used an old knit headcover with a pom pom on top as the topper.
