DIY Romantic Gifts: Painted Mugs
Express Your Love Artistically
Your partner cannot start the day without your morning coffee and you have some artistic skills you want to practice? Then, here is an idea of a gift you can craft yourself in no time and offer it on any romantic occasion you might think of: Valentine's Day, Christmas, his/her birthday, your anniversary, etc.
I am talking about a painted mug. Well, it does not have to be entirely painted like the one in the image below, unless you want it like this, of course. But, if this is the first time you try your hands at this, I suggest you start with something easier like writing a message or making a simple drawing.
All you need to complete this project is a mug and a marker. Moreover, it will only take you a few minutes to come up with a gift that will woo your partner and show him/her how much you appreciate his/her being in your life.

Ready-Made Painted Mugs
Here are some painted mugs you can buy. They are very cute, but I still prefer the ones made with my own hands. The message the latter transmit is completely different. Anyway, you can use them as inspiration for your own project.

Supplies for Your Painted Mug
Here is a list of the things you need to make your painted mug:
If you have the habit of drinking your coffee together in the morning, I suggest you buy a pack of two mugs. You can think of matching messages or drawings to make things funnier... or more romantic (your choice!).
You can buy white mugs or colored ones; it is up to you! Avoid the ribbed ones, though as they are more difficult to paint on, especially if you are not an expert.
There are many other markers you can use for this project, but we suggest Pebeo for their quality. Being designed especially for china painting, the color does not get wiped off when washing the mug.
If you are planning to use more colors, here is a nice pack of 9 assorted markers. The quality is the same as with the black one.
