Recycling Clipart

Recycling is so important to our planet. There are so many things that can be recycled. Plastic bottles, soda cans, paper, glass and batteries are just a few things that can be recycled and help to keep our planet healthy. Can you think of other items that can be recycled? I bet if you were to take a look around, you could find something.

You can pick up some extra cash by bringing in empty cans and bottles to a recycling center. Not only does it help the planet, it helps you, too!

Recycling Coloring Pages

Have any old appliances around the house you're not using? Instead of throwing them away, many charities will take them even if they're not working. This is just the start of how so many items can be recycled.

Recycling Crafts

Crafts can be a great way to recycle materials and have fun at the same time. All of these crafts can be made by recycling items you most likely already have.

Earth Day Scavenger Hunt

Weather permitting, have kids go outside and see how much recyclable garbage they can find and pick up. Then, bring the garbage back and sort it into piles. To make this activity fun, see if the kids can create a sculpture from what they've collected.

Plastic Water Bottles

Plastic bottles are very convenient. However, did you know that it takes at least 450 years for a bottle to decompose? Why not look into a "green" alternative instead? A reusable stainless steel one would work.

Energy Coloring Page
Energy Coloring Page

There are many simple ways to save energy. Turn out the light when you leave the room. Done watching TV? Don't forget to turn it off. Try not to keep the refrigerator door open for too long.

Cut down on the amount of hot water you're using in the shower either by taking a quicker shower, or by taking a shower at a lower temperature. If the weather is warm, how about hanging your clothes up to dry instead of using the dryer? (In the old days, this is how people dried their clothes all the time.)

You can recycle all sorts of paper including school papers, newspapers, magazines, printer paper, book pages and cardboard.

Pollution is so harmful to the planet. It comes in many different forms. Some is in the air, some is in the ground and some is even in the water. What ways can you think of to cut down on this?

Make an Earth Day Hand Poster

It's fun and easy to make an Earth Day poster. All you need is a poster board and blue and green washable finger paint.

  • Cut the poster board to be the shape of the planet Earth.
  • Put blue and green paint on each child's hand.
  • Have kids put their handprints on the poster board.
Once dried, you can go back and decorate further. For example, you might want to add the words: Reuse, Reduce and Recycle.

It's great to get kids awareness of the state of our planet from a very young age, but everyone needs to get involved rather than leaving it to the few.

What a great lens. It is so important to educate our kids about the earth and how to preserve it. They are the future. My granddaughter is 3 years old and I have showed her how to recycle, compost, gardening, save on water, turning off the lights, homemade bird food, and so much more. Her parents call me the tree huger and I am so proud of it!!! hihi

I own a landscape company and I have organized more than 500 people to clean up a 5 mile section of pond and road frontage that looks real bad.The lack of water this year has exposed the ugly in a bad way.I'm using my fleet of 8 dump trucks and all 12 of my employees to get this clean.Yes I'm also allowed to use my signage for a week which is good business as well. The transfer station and I came to an agreement so it will be low cost and they will be open till 5 instead of 330 on saturdays.
