Everything with Christmas Trees

Tree Up Close

A Merry Christmas Tree!

Christmas trees that light up the town and the White House are so beautiful with their bright white and colorful lights. A decorated tree in the home for display (which many people begin this right before Thanksgiving), looks so festive and adds to the holiday spirit.

I enjoy Christmas and visiting friends and family during this holiday period. I also enjoyable seeing their tree, the beautiful decorations and how wonderful it all looks with the gifts under the tree.

As legend goes, a 7th century monk Crediton, Devonshire, went to Germany to spread the word of the Lord. To symbolize religious meanings, he used the triangular form of the Christmas tree shape within his teachings. From there the tradition of placing a tall decorated tree in your home became part of the holiday celebration.

Are you interested in saving a tree?

Beautiful Artificial Christmas Trees

Artificial Christmas Trees on Amazon Here

Every year as I was growing up, we had a fresh cut Christmas tree. It was so beautiful but would start dropping pine needles all over the floor which had to constantly be swept up. When I grew up, I decided that I did love having a fresh tree but the expense, the extra work involved, the disposal, and the waste of a beautiful tree wasn't worth it. So I decided I would have an artificial Christmas tree. This tree would definitely fit the bill.

I can just imagine how beautiful this tree would be in my living room. The lights already being on the tree is an added convenience. I wouldn't have to put the lights on the tree every year. Oh, joy! I wouldn't have to search for the light that caused the lights not to work either. I would just have to put my precious ornaments on it and then enjoy.

Beautiful artificial fir tree with white frosted pre-lit 700 LED lights. Energy Star certified and requires 75% less energy then the standard lights when lit.

I really enjoy the lifelike pine cones that are scattered around on this tree.

Is your home too small for a large tree? And, you are into the frosted look in your trees; this is the perfect tree for you. It is only four feet tall and is a beautiful white. It already has 150 clear lights attached to the branches. Unlike most Christmas lights, if one burns out the rest of the rights will stay lit. How wonderful is that?

So all you have to do is to pull it out of the box and set it up all ready for you to decorate with your treasured ornaments. This will look nice even without the ornaments.

Christmas Tree Decorations with Cards

Christmas cards add to the holiday decorations. Cards make great tree ornaments by punching a hole in the top of the card and stinging the yarn through the hole to make a loop, and then tie a knot. Place it on the branch of your tree. But in order to do this first, you need the cards. Here are a couple of Christmas Tree theme cards.

The variety of artificial Christmas trees these days is astounding. We have a tall, narrow one that fits perfectly in the small space next to our fireplace. I love the white one near the top of this page - pretty!

Seeing that expensive tree reminds me of a true story. I have a friend who has a friend. (and, yes, I've met the friend.) The friend of my friend, whom I will call L, is kind of a cheapskate -- the type who will go out with friends and let them pay the whole check when it was supposed to be Dutch Treat. But L walked into one of those Christmas shops one holiday season several years ago, and there was a huge tree on which all the store's ornament varieties were displayed. She asked how much it would be for the decorated tree -- something the owner had never been asked before. To make a long story short -- she bought the tree with its ornaments for $8,000. I know it's hard to believe, but it's true. And those were 1990 dollars. I can't imagine spending that much on a tree when so many people don't have the necessities of life.

I had no idea where or how the Christmas tree tradition began. That's interesting. You know, I used to have an artificial tree around ... somewhere. It seems that it disappeared during our last move. Maybe I should decorate a house plant this year. :)
