Family 4th of July Party ~ Party Planning using Squidoo

Updated on June 10, 2014

Planning for the 4th of July Celebration

To our Family & Friends: As usual I will be working Saturday, so I will need lots of help. Not to mention that funds are a little low this year, so any help with bringing side dishes and other assorted party goods is greatly appreciated.

Remember: refrigerator space is severely limited, so if you are bringing food that needs to be kept cold, bring a cooler with ice for storage. Ready, set, get started Here!

NOTE to Squidooer's and other visitors: If you've stumbled across this page, it won't mean much to you. However, Squidoo has proven to be a great way to plan a big party for my extended family of 40+ relatives and close friends.

Use Squidoo to:

* organize a Party for family, friends, or work

* send Invitations

* receive party RSVPs

* assemble a host Reminder list

* use interactive Polls for Theme or Food suggestions

My favorite? Using Guest Book modules for side dish sign-ups like shown below. :)

Permission is freely given to steal this idea...

so give it a try!

Party is...

on Saturday, July 5th

Time: Come anytime between 2-5pm.

Dinner: 6pm

Where: 2329 NORTH Road, Scottsville, NY 14546 (see GPS direction note below)

Fireworks around 9:40?

Gotta have it, gotta wear it. :)
Gotta have it, gotta wear it. :)

Wristbands will be on sale soon for Adults $6 - Kids under 17 are free

Will get them to you one way or another prior to the event so you can wear them in with no problems

If you don't live in the Henrietta area, we might pawn them of to a local friend or relative to give to you. Meet up with them BEFORE you get to the Gravel Ponds gate and put them on. Security won't let you in without them.

If you are planning on camping here overnight, special wristband are available for $17 and includes the 4th of July fee.

Want to stay later than 10am on Sunday? An additional $3 for a day guest pass is required. Beyond that I don't know a lot of details, so feel free to call Gravel Ponds at 538-9631.

IMPORTANT: In order to get these reduced wristbands to you, please let us know before Thursday, July 4th.

It's not too late... yet.

$6 wristbands are will be gone fast, but you can still join the fun for $8 if unable to get them by the Tuesday deadline.

.

A note about directions by GPS...

Also where we are located in the park.

GPS will most likely have you go past Gravel Ponds.

Heading West on North Road...

Pass Riccelli's Trucking on the right. (Closed, but still there)

Pass Cedars Ave, also on the right.

Just pass the yellow Truck warning sign, prepare to turn left.

Look for the blue & gold sign 25 feet from the road that says...

Gravel Ponds

~

Jack's Repairs

Turn left there.

You'll most likely see a line of cars going through a Security checkpoint.

Thanks why you need to wear your wristbands before you get here, cuz that will hold you up from entering.

IMPORTANT: Speed limit is 5 MPH. It may be so busy that this may be redundant. :)

Go through the Gate.

Carefully bear right. Lots of people and kids be walking around.

Continue bearing right past the General Store.

Take the right nearly past the beach.

Park on the right near the shed. Or wherever you can. :)

We are the first RV on the left at lot 113 with the large yard in front. Not ours, but love it anyway. .

Any problems call Beth or Rick on their cells noted on the email dated 6/24.

IMPORTANT: Speed limit is 5 MPH.

It may be so busy that this may be redundant. :)

The Main Event: Fireworks at Gravel Ponds - Did a generic search looking for fireworks at Gravel Ponds...

and mine came up first. But the others are good, too. :)

Please bring...

Lawn Chairs (you may be able to leave them in the car if you claim what we have :)

A dish to pass (sign up below)

Beverages

It's not usual to get quite cool at night, so bring...

Sweatshirt or jacket

Pants

Bug spray 'cuz the mosquitoes have started feasting

Want to Swim?

You might bring...

Bathing suits

Beach Towels

Swim toys

Life jackets, armies, or swim rings

Change of clothes, just in case, for the non-adults :)

Sun block if you'll be here earlier

Here's the weather we are expecting. In other words... Hot, Hot, Hot.

The nearest we get to this is 'Guy Fawkes night' ... he tried to blow up parliament. Never understood whether we are celebrating a terrorist or his execution!
