When do you take your Christmas Decorations down?
Some say it is bad luck to take the Christmas tree down after the new year. "You are bringing the old year into the new."
Others say January 6th is the day, after the 12 days of Christmas.
That's what I tend to do is follow the 12 days of Christmas and let my tree up until the 6th. That's tradition for me here in Ireland. Although the tree is so dry this year it might go tomorrow. I suppose the real answer is you take it down whenever you want!
I'm not sure about those superstitions, but we usually take our Christmas decorations and lights down during the 2nd-3rd week of January. Good question!
I always take down my Christmas decorations before the first of the new year, since I want a clean house when the new year arrives.
I've never heard of this before so it doesn't really apply to me. I naturally tend to take the tree down about a week after Christmas.
We normally take them down on New Year's Day, although we've been known to leave them up until Jan 6. This year we took them down early, but mainly because they had been up since BEFORE Thanksgiving. I got into the Xmas spirit early this year, so this year they came down Dec 31.
I put my tree up on Thanksgiving this year, so I was tired of it by the time Christmas was over. We took it down the day after.
mine is still up lol I dont believe in superstitions like these, when I get round to it I get round to it, I just havent yet
I take them down New Year's Day. After the new year, they just look sad instead of festive to me.
