This year the big meal together with the family is going to be early, as in 10am breakfast time early. You can't do turkey and mashed potatoes for Breakfast!!
So, any suggestions to keep the Thanksgiving vibe while still respecting the Breakfast/brunch food groups??
Who says you can't have turkey and potatoes for breakfast?!
But that reminds me, as is my duty on Thanksgiving morning before the big race in our neighborhood, I need to dust off my waffle iron:)
Actually turkey would be fine for braekfast...you could make egg and turkey burritoes.
Sounds like turkey-veggie omelets, hash browns, biscuits or rice with gravy would be a good starting point for menu options.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day-- cool!
Maybe all American households should start doing Thanksgiving Breakfasts or Brunches!
Yea have the turkey its good no matter the time of day and the leftovers are heaven.
I will cook some turkey with Asian stuffing, soy sauce...hmmm nice...you are all invited
French toast casserole with cranberries?
Pumpkin muffins/waffles/pancakes
Turkey & Potato frittata
all good suggestions. maybe some champagne with cranberry juice in it. mmm...
Hey, I'll take champagne in anything
something lite, and then cold turkey sandwiches for lunch on very fresh bread with mayo and salt and pepper!! Wow...good eating.
I recommend making Greenlee's Cinnamon Bread into French toast. Just use eggs and a dash of milk, soak the bread and fry in butter. You can top it off with a bit of maple syrup or sour cream and cooked apples. It's marvelous! You can buy Greenlee's at Whole Foods. You will never buy any other cinnamon bread ever again, after you try this!!
Happy Thanksgiving
Okay, not only am I incredibly hungry, but I know exactly what to put together on the menu! ...besides the mimosa bar-oj, cranberry, apple, grape, club soda, grapefruit...
Thank you everyone and have a fantastic Thanksgiving!
For Me: Go without for breakfast...that way I can have more room for the Thanksgiving Dinner!
I had never heard of a Thanksgiving "brunch" until I met my sister-in-law last year. Her family in Virgina has Thanksgiving brunch every year. Their menu consisted of the traditional turkey and all the fixings along with a combination of coastal breakfast treats like crap cakes, pancakes, and omelets.
Personally, I think that regardless of what time the meal is, the key is lots of food, family, friends, and fellowship.
Big breakfasts are a huge tradition in my house on every holiday. We generally do a variety of quiches, chocolate croissants (email if you want the recipe -- easy breezy), pancakes, bacon, sausage, an assortment of fruit and, most importantly, mimosas.
I love a big breakfast. Except on Thanksgiving Day! I usually try to hold my appetite for Thanksgiving Turkey which we usually have around 2PM and then we just graze the whole day through. So Thanksgiving Breakfast for me would be hot chocolate and a croissant.

My turkeys, ham, and pork loin are thawing, and I made my cornbread today for my dressing. We're also having lots of veggies and casseroles, yeast rolls, gravy, and several desserts. Oh, and LOTS of cranberry sauce! lolMy 7-year-old granddaughter had to go to school today dressed as a Pilgrim or a...

"There is one day that is ours. There is one day when all we Americans who are not self-made go back to the old home to eat saleratus biscuits and marvel how much nearer to the porch the old pump looks than it used to. Thanksgiving Day is the one day that is purely American."Such were the...

What's your favorite food to eat on your Thanksgiving dinner menu? My favorite food on our Thanksgiving dinner table will be the Pineapple Stuffing baked dish, it's simple to make and delicious, it's not the turkey stuffing or stove top kind of stuffing, it's more like a dessert.
