If you are one to give out candy on Halloween, do you buy the kind you love, in case there is any
If you give out candy on Halloween, do you buy only the kind you love to eat, just in case there are not many trick or treaters, so you can eat the rest of what is not given out? If so, what is your favorite candy to buy or give out on Halloween? I love Hershey's chocolate with almonds.
Well of course, gotta munch on something while everyone else is getting it all.
Of course!!! I mean really! Thanks for answering, cjarosz. Do you have a favorite, or just love it all?
I usually buy good goodies (the one I love) and cheap goodies. As some kids keep coming back I give the good one first but if I notice same kids come back I give the cheap one next.
My favorite chocolate is Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Cadbury dark chocolate
Hi cebutouritspot, thank you for answering. Yes, me too, a big mix of the good stuff that the kiddies like and, yes, pops for those that keep returning! LOL Oh, now, I love Reese's and Cadbury dark chocolate too! Well, I love all chocolate!
My favorites are M&M fun size and mini Hershey bars, all kinds. Last year the town cancelled Halloween because of Hurricane Sandy. So I ran to Walmart and had to fight over the last few bags of candy. Everyone went and bought their own! LOL I ended up with a kiddie mix with lollipops and tootsie rolls. We made a piñata. It worked out well for me because there was no chocolate for me to hoard.
(We don't usually have to buy candy because we live up an off road where no one comes trick-or-treating.)
Hi Crafty, wow, I am glad you and yours are okay from the aftermath of Sandy!!! I prayed and had many praying for all and many hubber friends in its path! What a clever idea about the piñata! I usually buy a bix mix of all the kiddlie's favorites.
Maybe not the ones I "love" but on the other hand would not by any that I really dislike . . .
Hi brblog, thank you for answering and good point there! I would not either, except maybe a big bag of mix, i.e., like nerds and the kind I know most kiddies love.
Hi Faith:
My husband and I go to bed quite early, as he gets up 3 a.m. so we are not usually available these past few years for trick or treaters.
However, we DID pass out candy for many years prior to my husband getting this job where he is up so early.
I remember I bought a lot of "double bubble' gum, as I love to chew gum, but I can't now because of so many crowns and bridges. (picture a smile with teeth;)
IF we were still passing out candy. I LOVE musketeer bars and Hershey bars, so I would buy lots of those in case any were left over. I also love cow tails.
NOW that they sell bags of all of these in bite sizes, that would be even more tempting.
I DO remember when I was working, lots of times I would take leftover candy to work and place them in our lunch room. They would be gone within a couple days. However, I would keep a few home for myself.
I LOVED the tiny kids in their costumes, with the parents standing back, with huge smiles. The children would always say, "THANK YOU!" Some were so cute I took a few pictures.
Thanks for this great question. Do you get a lot of children? if I were little I would DEFINITELY want to come to your house! Just the pictures of your home radiate warmth and good karma on my computer screen.
God bless you Faith Reaper! Sparklea
Hi Sparklea, we would get tons in the city but here we get smaller crowds of the tiny ones who are just so adorable, and it is hard to know what to give them except maybe lollipops? It gets dark here very early, so all are done by 7:30 to 8:30!
As far as I know, we don't have ' Hershey's ' over here in the U.K. ( never seen them anywhere ), but they certainly look good, though Cadbury's hazelnut bars are quite popular with the li'l ankle biters
Anything with hazel running through it is simply gorgeous... : )
Enjoy a lovely evening dear Faith,
R.Q.
Hi Romeos, NO Hershey's, how interesting! ... yet the Cadbury's hazelnut bars are heavenly no doubt! Yes, hazel is my favorite, even in a creamer with coffee : ) Simply scrumptious. You too precious heart! Hugs
Certain I would hate to see anything go to waste... How's did you guess?
LOL, Rolly, oh.... I just know these things LOL Thanks for the smiles and for taking time to answer this night. Good to see you here ....boo!

How early do you start and how late do you still give out candy on Halloween?Since it is a Saturday this year, I just wondered what was the typical start time and end time for most people.
