Free Halloween Fun for Kids Including Coloring Pages and Games

Updated on October 28, 2014

Halloween for Kids

Enjoy free Halloween coloring pages and sheets, clipart, online games, puzzles, word searches and crafts to help kids celebrate this fun October holiday. You can even have a sing-a-long while you're here.

I know how much my kids love Halloween and the activities that go along with them. Of course their favorite part is trick or treating, but there are other things to keep kids occupied while they're waiting for the big night.

There are hours of fun to be had here and the best part is that it doesn't cost anything!

Free Online Halloween Games

Online games are a great way for kids to have some Halloween fun and these days are numerous sites which feature ones that are free. Besides the fun of playing, these games can also help with hand and eye coordination, memory and creativity, depending on which one is chosen.

I have a list of some below. The third one is probably best for a bit of an older child as it moves so quickly. OK, I have to admit it. I'm having fun playing it myself. I always test out games first so I know how they are before recommending them.

Witch Stationary

There are so many fun projects that can be done with this witch border page. Write a Halloween story or include a note in your child's lunch on this spooky day.

Have kids find Halloween pictures and let them make a collage or give them a box of crayons to create their own eerie image. Stickers would also work quite well.

Just click on the image and you will be brought to a free, printable version courtesy of WPClipart.

Monster Mash with Lyrics

Have any singers? Here's the classic "Monster Mash" with lyrics so kids can sing along if they don't already know the lyrics.

Free Halloween Coloring Pages

Coloring is a fun activity for Halloween. Kids can take some quiet time and get creative. I recommend using crayons and if the kids are really young, you might want to consider washable crayons. Afterward, they can display their coloring sheets with pride.

Each of the pages below are free and printable. Just like with the witch stationary above, click on the image you like and you'll be taken to the original version. All of the pictures below are from WPClipart.

Halloween Music CD for Kids

Kid's Dance Party: Halloween
Kid's Dance Party: Halloween

My family loves music, so while we're having fun with Halloween activities, I always put on some music. This is a fun CD with lots of cool songs. You can even listen to sample tracks if you would like.

Free Halloween Jigsaw Puzzles

My family loves jigsaws puzzles and we own quite a few of them. The problem is, pieces always seem to get lost. That's why I love online puzzles. I don't have to worry about the kids losing any pieces or the dog chewing any of them up.

Below I have a list of puzzles at differently difficulty levels so there is something for all age groups from cute to scary. These are easy enough to maneuver. Just use the mouse to drag the pieces and put them in place.

Jack-O-Lantern Clipart
Jack-O-Lantern Clipart

Clipart can be used in a variety of ways. If you scrapbook, you and your child can help create a great Halloween page using pictures and adding clipart for decoration.

If your child takes a paper bag lunch to school, you could glue one to add to the fun of the day. You can also print them out for craft and art projects.

Have a reader on your hands? Cut out a piece of construction paper for a bookmark and add a piece of clipart to it. Additional decorating can be done with crayons, glitter or stickers.

The pumpkin clipart above and the ones below all come from WPClipart.

Witches have long been associated with Halloween. Many kids envision them flying around on their broomsticks. This particular witch appears to have a grin on her face, so that seems to make her a friendly witch.

Halloween Spot the Difference Game

Happy Halloween Picture

One of my favorite games is the kind where you have to spot the difference between two pictures. This allows for kids to use their keen eyes of observation.

It can be a bit challenging, but think how good kids will feel when they can successfully find the difference between the two pictures. Of course, you can always help and play together with your kids. My son and I have always enjoyed these.

Have some construction paper? Cut it out in Halloween shapes and let kids decorate them. The picture above will give you some ideas. If you prefer simpler shapes, you could cut out the shape of a ghost or bat.

How about some white paper plates? With crayons, kids can transform them into jack-o-lanterns. Or, let them color the plates orange, then use black construction paper to cut into shapes for the features.

Should you have some goo goo eyes, you can make a ghost. Take a white sock and stuff the toe section. Tie some ribbon around the area just below the stuffed portion to form a head. Glue on the goo goo eyes to create the face.

Halloween Word Searches

Word searches are a great way for kids to use their minds while enjoying some holiday fun. I have a few listed below ranging from simple to more complicated.

Print them out and your kids will be all set. For younger kids, it's a great way to learn how to spell more words.

Stories, games and pictures. Also anything to do with kids... Nothing too scary though. A very useful lens. I hope you do not mind for me including a link to it at my blog post here: http://badasscontent.com/fun-ideas-for-halloween-2...

Nice blue spook image my favourite of all of them. I like all the others too but the blue spook is a friendly looking one not at all scary.

I love heading to a local campground for all the fun and festivities they have planned. I also love the feel of Halloween in the air and the movies, but not the scary ones.

I like having kids make Halloween decorations to put up (in windows or even outside). And I adore seeing the children at my door in their costumes.

I always love your lens and this one too! We don't celebrate it here but after visiting this lens I felt like I must celebrate it someday. Happy Halloween :)
