Free Valentine Poems
I love the idea of poems for Valentine's Day. It's a great way to let someone know how you feel about them from your heart. Here are some poems you can print out for the special people, (or animals,) in your life.
Do you happen to have a spare frame around the house you could put a poem in? If not, I suggest printing out the poem, rolling it up like a sea scroll and wrapping a decorative ribbon around it.

Message in a Bottle Gift
Get an empty bottle and remove the label. I suggest soaking the bottle in warm water to make it easier. Next, write a heartfelt letter to the person you want to give the Valentine to. I have free stationary below that you can print out and use if you would like. Once written, roll the letter up and use a ribbon to tie it.
Next, decorate the outside of the bottle. You might want to glue some lace on it or sequins, rhinestones or anything you have around the house that would make it decorative. You could even paint decorations on it.
Drop your letter inside and I suggest getting a nice piece of ribbon to tie around the top and make a bow. You have now created a personalized Valentine gift that can also work as a nice decoration.

Valentine Coupon Book
Make Your Own Valentine Coupon Book
One of my favorite gifts I've ever received for Valentine's Day are Valentine coupons from my kids. Valentine coupons can be made for anyone on your Valentine list.
If you want to make a coupon book for her, some suggestions include a back rub, a walk under the stars, breakfast in bed, watching a movie at home of her choice, a pedicure and writing and performing a song for her
A coupon book for him could include a foot massage, a head massage, watching a sports game on TV, a home cooked meal and cleaning and washing his car.
A coupon book for kids could include a week without chores, a trip to the park, baking cookies together, making a craft together, coloring together and taking a nature walk.
Want to make a coupon book for your parents? Some ideas are coupons to empty the garbage, wash the dishes, sweep the floors, cuddle together and watch a movie, do your homework the first time you are asked and have a family game night.
Have a friend you would like to give a coupon book to? How about a sleepover coupon? Other ideas include help with homework or office work, a jogging date, a makeover night or burning a CD with your friend's favorite songs.
Homemade Jar Gifts
Have an empty jar? Take a look around your kitchen and see what you have to put into the jar. Suggestions include pasta, white rice with seasonings, coffee, pretzels, crackers, cookies, candies or beans.
Next, do you have any old clothing like an old shirt you don't wear anymore? Cut a piece of fabric and with a rubber band, secure it over the lid of the jar to make it decorative.

Do you have any potpourri lying around? You could take a handful and wrap it up in a piece of material. If you don't have any material, once again, look for an old piece of clothing and cut out a piece. Tie it up with some pretty ribbon and you now have a lovely sachet.
You could also do this with bath salts, although I suggest you first put the bath salts in a sandwich bag, then wrap it up.

How about making a small, cute Valentine pillow? You can use the free pattern below. If you don't have a sewing machine, you can simply sew it by hand. Remember to sew it inside out and leave an opening for the stuffing. Turn it out, stuff it and close it up. If you don't have any pillow foam, I suggest using cotton balls or cut up an old sock or two to fill it.

Get Out of Jail Free Card
Let's face it. We all end up in the doghouse from time to time. Print out this Get Out of Jail Card to give as a gift. The next time you and that person have a disagreement, the individual can hand you the card and all is forgiven.

Do you happen to live in an area where flowers are growing this time of year? If so, how about picking some for a Valentine's Day gift? You can bunch some together and tie them up with ribbon. You could also pair them with a Valentine's Day poem.
