Christmas Ornaments with a Frog Theme

Frog lovers of the world, it's time to celebrate and show your love of frogs. Decorate your Christmas tree with frog ornaments. Hand-blown glass frog themed Christmas ornaments allow you to show your love of these little green amphibians even at Christmas Time. Give gifts of frogs to family and friends. Decorate your Christmas tree to resemble an iced over Frog Pond.

One year I had been teaching with a frog theme in my classroom and ran across an article about a shipment of Christmas Trees from Oregon which had just been delivered to California. As the trees warmed up, a chorus of frogs began to sing surprising both the owners of the Christmas Tree lot as well as the customers wishing to purchase the trees. On closer inspection they discovered that the trees were home to a species of tree frog which had hitched a ride to California tucked in the branches.

I brought that article into class and we began brainstorming ways in which we could include frogs into our Christmas decorations. We concluded that a white Christmas Tree would look as close as we could get to a frozen frog pond as it would look on a Vermont winter day.

Then we decided to look for frog ornaments to decorate our tree. How surprised we were to find these elegant hand-blown glass Christmas frogs. Come decorating your home for Christmas with a frog theme...

Frog Prince Hand Blown Glass Christmas Ornaments - The Frog Christmas

Decorate Your Tree with Frogs

Start your collection of Christmas decorations with the hand blown glass Frog Prince ornament.

These frogs contrast nicely with a White Christmas Tree which reminds me of a frog pond frozen over for the winter.

Did you know that real frogs snuggle down in the mud at the bottom of a frozen over pond to hibernate until spring? Their bodies can freeze hard to the point that you might think they are dead but as spring warms the pond they thaw and begin to hop around again.

Putting frogs on the Christmas Tree reminds us that spring is just around the corner.

After learning the facts about real frogs we decided to make up some fictionalized stories about wintertime frogs...

The children in my classroom loved the idea that the frogs were decorating for Christmas under the ice and began writing stories of the adventures of the Frog Prince ornaments that we hung on our tree.

Old World Christmas Frog

The Old World Christmas Frog sits on the branches and watches you decorate your home for the Christmas season.

These blown glass frogs sparkle against a white Christmas Tree.

Bring delight to the amphibian lovers in your life by decorating your home with frogs.

Another delightful addition to your Christmas ornament collection, the Old World Christmas Ornament Sitting Frog will bring Christmas Joy to all.

It's Christmas Time down by the Frog Pond!

Frogs Ponder Christmas

These Christmas Frogs help us to ponder the meaning of Christmas. Spend some time thinking the way these frogs do about the true meaning of Christmas and how you will be able to pass that message on to your children.

Christmas is a magical time. It is a time of giving to others. It is a time to express your joy of family and delight all the wonderful things that life has given you. How will the frogs help you to express this feeling?

We wish you a Froggy Christmas

We wish you a Froggy Christmas.

We wish you a Froggy Christmas.

We wish you a Froggy Christmas

and a Hoppy New Year!

Because I teach Kindergarten and First Grade I like to take familiar songs, change the words a bit, post the words on large poster paper and use them to teach the children how to read. We took the song, We Wish You a Merry Christmas! and changed it to "We Wish you a Froggy Christmas!" and sang it over and over again throughout December.

What better frog to add to your Christmas Tree than a Tree Frog?

All those beautiful hand-blown glass green frogs will look delightful against the background of a White Christmas Tree.

This Christmas Tree is a green tree that has been flocked to look like new fallen snow.

12 Days of Christmas with Kermit the Frog

Look what's at the top of our Christmas Tree this year! It's the ultimate frog tree topper sitting atop a glittering ball. Doesn't that remind you of the story of the Frog Prince where the princess looses her ball down the well and a frog promises to get it for her if she gives him a kiss?

This frog will look delightful on top of your Christmas Tree this year. The children will love making up stories of how the frog got up there. Just imagine all the comments from friends and relatives when they see all these frogs hopping around your tree.

Red and White Christmas Tree Garland - Frog Eggs on the Christmas Tree!

Now you know I couldn't resist creating a math project to include with our frog themed Christmas Tree. We were working on patterns so we decided to create our own Christmas Tree Garland. Do you remember stringing popcorn and cranberries as a child to decorate your tree?

We decided to create a garland that would be less likely to attract rodents so we chose to use wooden beads. We used the red ones to represent leaves fallen into the pond.

We used spray paint to color some of the beads white and we added a black dot to these white beads to make them look like frog eggs.

I put the dried beads into a center for the children to create long lines of dried leaves and frogs eggs. They made a beautiful Christmas Garlands.

This is really cute. I used to have frogs in the garden, in Indiana one huge toad that was around regularly for about 5 years. I think frog ornaments could be really cute in a tree. Yet another lovely frog themed lens, blessed.
