The Funny Side of Halloween

Updated on September 23, 2013

Even the Scariest Day of the Year is Worth a Few Laughs

Halloween isn't usually known for it's funny side but after seeing many funny things at Halloween, I felt it needed some special consideration.

A week ago, I was visiting Washington State and ventured into Astoria, Oregon. They had decorated for Halloween and upon seeing a funny witch (photo below), smacked into a light pole, I had to have a laugh.

It reminded me about all of the funny things I have seen and seen other people do on Halloween. This website is dedicated to the little spark of hilarity that can be generated by some of the the funniest things at Halloween. Some may not have been intended to be funny, but most will cause a chuckle, at the least.

Follow me in this journey to the lighter side of Halloween and as Rod Serling would say, "We offer this for your consideration."

Even Dracula has a Laugh every so Often

There is a bit of laughter in Halloween, as in any holiday.

Do you ever wonder if the famous monsters ever had a laugh behind the scenes?

Someone nailed Frankenstein's boot to the floor; Dracula slipped in some blood; the Mummy being attacked by moths; or the Blob being mopped up by the cleaning lady?

I remember growing up and seeing some funny things around Halloween time. Many of them focused on costumes, but there were others.

This website is dedicated to some of those funny things that you may see, with a modern twist. We wouldn't want to leave out Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga, so I have included them here.

Take a stumble down this path with me and when you have finished, I would appreciate if you sent this to your friends and also said "Hello" below in the Guestbook.

Have a great time and thank you for visiting!

This book is a good way to ease children into the Halloween season.

It is not scary and it gives the little ones something to laugh about. When they get older, they will not be as scared of Halloween. A great book to read with your children or by yourself. Yes, you can read it too.

In my own and many other opinions, this is definitely the funniest Halloween movie of all time.

Who can forget Igor (Marty Feldman) singing "Ain't got no body" or the roll in the hay with Teri Garr? I especially love Peter Boyle (1935-2006) as theFrankenstein monster, a role he recreated many years later on "Everybody Loves Raymond" during a Halloween episode.

If Mary Shelley were alive today, she definitely would have this one on her playlist.

Highly recommended and a very low price for such a great & funny movie.

This little expanding shirt is just the costume for expectant mothers. A very interesting and original idea and you don't have to paint your belly.

@BunnyFabulous: Absolutely. The funny side is what I go for. Come to think of it, I approach everything that way. Some look at me as if I've just escaped. Thank you for the visit and the blessing.

Hahahaha! I love the witches running into trees and light posts too. Personally, I don't care for the spooky part of Halloween, but the funny one I'm all for! The vomiting pumpkin is a hoot, but I think I could only look at that once. Ew. Blessings on a great lens!

Very enjoyable lens. This lens is all about FUN! Now you have me all excited for Halloween. I really like the regurgitating pumpkin. I will have to do one of those just to see my guests expression on their faces when they knock on my door. :)

I did enjoy this funny page! My husband loves to tell scary stories to the grandchildren, but he always turns it into a joke! That way they do not have bad dreams. I even wrote a page here on Squidoo about how he tells those scary, funny stories.
