My Furby Friend

Updated on November 12, 2014

Adventures with my new Furby

Hi, my name is Rachel. I am 9 years old and I love my new Furby. I got some money for my birthday and used it to buy a new black Furby. I named my Furby, Winkie. I like the way he winks his eyes at me when I talk to him. I am having a lot of fun teaching Winkie to speak English. You see, right now he only speaks Furbish. The more I talk to him the more English words he begins to speak.

I think a Furby would make a great friend for your little girl or boy!

The photos on this page are by my Grandma Mary Beth.

Exploring the Furby Features - read before you play

Here Rachel and her sister Ella are checking out all of the Furby features on the sheet that came with the Furby.

The Furby came with a big sheet that shows all of the different features. Some of the things it tells you to do with the Furby include: hold Furby, play music for Furby, shake Furby, pet Furby's head, feed Furby with your finger and turn your Furby upside down.

The back of the sheet gives you helpful hints for the Furby and tells you how to keep your Furby clean. You don't want to put your Furby in water so you keep it clean by wiping it with a damp cloth.

The sheet gives you a list of some of the Furbish words and it gives you a website to go to check out the full Furbish dictionary.

2012 Black Furby - a great little friend

Here is Rachel's Furby. They come in a variety of colors and are very interactive. The new 2012 models have a lot more features and even have a free downloadable app for the iPod,iPad, or iPhone. This model Furby truly has a mind of its own. They say your Furby's personality will be shaped by how you treat it.

Teaching the Furby to Speak English

Rachel has been spending a lot of time talking to her Furby. He is beginning to respond in English.

When it is time for the Furby to rest, Rachel turns him away from her. After a short time he closes his eyes and starts to snore. After about 30 seconds of this he goes into the sleep mode until Rachel is ready to wake him up to play.

A Buddy for Winkie - Furby Buddies

I think it would be great to get a little buddy for my Furby.

White Furby

This white Furby would make a great friend for Winkie. If you have two Furbys then they can talk to each other. That sounds like fun. I hope to get a friend for my Furby soon.

It's cute that they snore before going to sleep.

These are so cute, but I had never heard of these things before. How much fun for my granddaughters!

Well now, how awesome is this! I absolutely love the new black Furby! I also enjoyed reading about your beautiful granddaughters too! So much fun! I know my children loved their Furbys. As a matter of fact, one still sits in my son's room and speaks to me every time I clean :)

These Furby toys are just about the cutest things I've ever seen. I love 'plush' animals, and to have one that 'talks' to you has got to be the best thing ever! :)

Furbys are so cute! And your grandaughters definitely seem to be enjoying them. That's the best recommendation a toy can receive!
