3 Movies For A Geek, Asperger's, Or Indigo Child, Teen, Or Adult

Updated on March 3, 2014

If someone you know and love is a geek, or has Asperger's syndrome, or seems to be an Indigo child, teen, or adult, this movie gift guide is for you.

Although these three types of people may be different from each other (or not), they have many similarities, and enjoy some of the same types of movies.

Check out these three interesting and unusual films you may not have noticed before.

Three Relatively Obscure Movies For Geeks, Aspergers, And Indigos

1 ~ A.I. Artificial Intelligence

I have a friend who fits all three categories - geek, Asperger's, and Indigo. He loves this movie and, although he is an adult, he identifies strongly with the main character, a little boy played by Haley Joel Osment. This is a fascinating film from Steven Spielberg. Be warned that it is very sad in many ways.

This toy is very expensive, but could be the perfect present for someone on your list if you have a big budget! (If you've seen the movie, you know this is a great gift!)

2 ~ The Last Mimzy

This is another favorite of my geek Asperger Indigo friend whom I mentioned above. I like this movie better than A.I. because it is not as sad and has a happier ending. Of the three films on this page, The Last Mimzy is the most suitable for children (and wonderful for adults as well).

3 ~ Bicentennial Man

Although Bicentennial Man stars Robin Williams, it is not a comedy. There is much to ponder in this poignant film. Plot elements remind me of the struggle Arwen faces in The Lord Of The Rings, as she, an immortal elf, falls in love with a mortal man.

Very interesting choices. It would be helpful to know WHY you recommend each of these gifts for geeks, aspergers, and/or indigos. It's not obvious to people who aren't familiar with these types of people.

I am not familiar with any of these movies, but I think my daughter and I will be looking into them. They look interesting.

I've seen A.I. and The Last Mimzy and liked them both. When the ads came out for The Last Mimzy I was really startled, as I recognized it. I had read the short story it was based upon many, many years ago. From what I recall the short story was somewhat creepy in comparison to the movie. Anyway, I've often thought I'd love to build a simple robot and have some interest in other geeky things, so this was fun to read and look at.

Hi mimblog! You inspired me to make a lens about the movie I am Number Four. I think many of your visitors will enjoy that movie as well. In my lens, I included a link back to your lens to help more people learn about the AI, Mimzy and Bicentennial Man movies and your other gift ideas. Keep up the good work! :)
