Updated on October 12, 2017

Make A Button Ghost For Halloween

Ghosts are the perfect craft theme for kids around Halloween time, and here you will find lots of craft projects with a ghostly theme. These aren't the spooky, scary kind of ghosts....these are the friendly kind of spirits we'd all like to meet.

Leaf And Rock Ghost Craft Idea

These ghosts are made with leaves and rocks found outside. Paint the leaves and the rocks and then draw a face on them. Look how adorable these ghosts are, and this is a very inexpensive and fun project for your kids.

To make these cute as can be specters your kids will need:

  • Rocks
  • Leaves
  • White Craft Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Markers or Googly Eyes
  • Craft Glue (if you use googly eyes you will need the glue)

Paint your rocks or your leaves a ghostly shade of white. Let them dry completely.

Once they are dry you can give these spirits of nature the eyes they need. Make the eyes with a marker or glue some googly eyes on them.

Gauze Ghost Craft How To For Kids

This gauze ghost is such an easy Halloween craft, yet it looks like it takes a long time and lots of effort. Imagine lots of these spooky characters hiding in your home creating a wonderful Halloween look.

You will need:

  • Gauze Squares 4" X 4" (of course you can use bigger squares if you want bigger ghosts)
  • Flour
  • Water
  • A Glass
  • A Ball

Put the ball on top of the glass. Dip your gauze in some water and flour. Lay the gauze over the glass/ball. Make sure the corners of the gauze spread out like legs so your gauze ghost will stand. Let it dry completely, life the gauze ghost off the glass and ball...and you've got a spooky little phantasm decoration for Halloween.

Paper Plate Ghost Craft Project For Kids

A paper plate, some crepe paper streamers, face, arms and hands cut from different colored paper, are all you need to make this cute little ghost decoration for Halloween. You can make a hole in the top of the ghost and thread a string through to use as a hanger.

Make A Ghost Bowling Game With Paper Cups

You will need some paper cups, a marker, and a ball. Make eyes and mouths on the paper cups with your markers. When the marker is dried stack the paper cups in a pyramid. Then let the games begin! Mark the floor with some tape and then let the kids roll the ball at the pyramid. Have some ghostly Halloween game fun for everyone.

How To Make A Footprint Ghost

I know I say it all the time, but I love handprint and footprint crafts. Whenever I use my child's footprint or handprint to make anything, it automatically becomes a treasured keepsake I want to keep forever! And these craft projects are so simple to make.

Take this footprint ghost, all you need to make this project are:

  • Black Paper
  • Skin Safe White Craft Paint
  • Black Marker
  • Your Kid!

Get your black paper ready, dip your child's foot in the white safe paint, and let your child stand on the paper. Make sure to keep that foot steady. If they can stand and then remove their foot should have a beautiful ghost shape.

Then just draw the eyes and the mouth using the marker, or use black craft paint if you happen to have it.

That's all there is to making this wonderful little Halloween ghost!

Make A Paper Cup Ghost Craft

To make this fun kid's ghost craft you will need a paper cup, paper to cut arms from, crepe streamers, a marker and a string to hang this cute spooky Halloween ghost from.

Poke a hole through the bottom of the cup and thread your string through it. Tie a knot at the end of the string inside the cup so it cannot get through the hole.

Glue some streamers on the inside of the cup as shown in the picture. Draw eyes onto the cup using a marker...or use googly eyes or sticker eyes if you have them. Glue the cut paper arms onto the outside of the cup.

Easy, fun, and super cheap to make, this ghost will look adorable decorating your home for Halloween.

Coffee Filter Ghosts - Fun Halloween Craft For Kids

You are going to have to buy extra coffee filters if you make this ghost craft with your kids. They are going to want to make tons of them. And that's great, the more the spookier!

Gallon Milk Jug Ghosts

To make a milk jug ghost you will need:

  • Gallon Milk Jugs With Caps On - that have been cleaned and are empty & dry
  • Black Marker - permanent
  • Glow Sticks, LED Tealights, Holiday String Lights (just one kind, not all of them)
  • Sand - to weigh down the jugs so they don't fly away in the wind

Draw the eyes and mouths of your ghosts on the jugs.

Add the sand (or whatever material you are going to use to weigh them down...could be rocks or anything to add a bit of weight.)

Add the lights...and now you have some amazing ghostly decorations for your home, your porch, your yard...these are fun, easy, and they look amazing. I imagine people walking by your shrubs, where you've hidden these glowing jugs, wondering if that's a figment of their imagination or if there's a real ghost in there.
