It is very supportive for all over the back, very firm and supportive.

It has the added delight of a massager which can be turned on or off run by batteries which is very soothing. Nice blue colour.

I have used this at work, at home on the sofa, on public transport and it has certainly saved me a lot of discomfort when I have to sit for long periods of time.

Help Ease Back Pain

I have direct and personal experience of backpain and bilateral sciatica from my hips to my knees. I know full well the toll it can take living daily in pain. So I am talking from first hand experience here.

I also know the appreciation when something helps to ease that pain and to start to make the backpain or sciatica feel better.

Backpain can take over your life if you let it and the pain can be terrible. An unseen condition, people do not often get much sympathy for backpain. It is important to do what you can to help yourself to make your back feel better.

If you have backpain or sciatica or know someone who does, a few well chosen gifts to help them with their backpain can be very thoughtful and even to give them a boost to start them on their way to taking control of the condition.

Comfort U Body Pillow

Comfort-U Total Body Pillow - Full Support Pillow

I love full body support pillows!

This one offers total body support to help relieve pain, cushioning and supporting the back and neck helping to keep your spine in good alignment. Is complete with a full pillow case.

Much better in my experience than messing around with trying to position pillows.

A Travel Gift

If you know someone who travels a lot but has back or sciatic pain or simply finds sitting in airline or train seats difficult and uncomfortable, this cushion could be a very welcome gift.

When folded in half it provides great lumbar support, fully out it gives support to back, neck and shoulders.

My Dad has this and before we lost Mom last year to cancer, her back hurt so bad that I sewed a special small pillow for her to use. I use it now and think of her :)

@tuliprose lm: You can do things to help yourself with sciatica. Of course do follow your Drs recommendations always but do investigate some of these helpful items, I love mine and you might find they get "borrowed" by others too! Take good care of yourself.

@LisaAuch1: Yes I like that a sciatic a survival pack is necessary. I like heat on my back if I get any twinges now, some people prefer cold so those packs are good for either.

@ecogranny: Sciatica is pain that is caused by irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve. This nerve runs from the back of the pelvis, down both legs to the feet. Its the longest nerve in the body. The pain can be felt in many ways from a burning , pins and needles, crawling, sharp, dull etc there are many ways. It can be felt or radiate to only part of the nerve for example the upper segments or in one leg or as in my case all the way from the hips to the feet in both legs .It can be mild or extremely painful, intermittent (like when sitting a long time) or all the time. The aim of many of the supports is to take the pressure off the nerve and to support the structure of the back/spine and muscles to help ease the discomfort. The closer the spine is to a good alignment the better chance there is of easing the pain. The aim of most muscle balance therapy - as in Lose the Back Pain system and other physio type work is to get the spine and hips into a better posture and alignment so that the pressure is taken off the nerve therefore easing pain. The problem most of us have is that it is difficult to sit and even more difficult to sleep in a correct posture All the time so thats where these supports are invaluable. Not to replace muscle balance therapies but to help us. I could not have done without my support cushions and sleep pillows. I would also recommend that you do take regular breaks from sitting if you are getting nerve pain. Hope that helps to answer your query - there is a LOT more to it but tried to explain in a nutshell! I do explain it more in some of my other sciatica and back pain pages if you are interested.

I'm curious how the saddle works, as I do feel nerve pain when I spend too much time at the computer. And I'd love to curl up next to that full body pillow. My daughter has one and loves it.
