Gifts for Nana - 25 Presents to Thrill Nana

Updated on December 2, 2013

Nana Gift Ideas

It's hard to find Nana gifts that are as special and unique as she is. You'll find the best gifts for Nana here - the type of presents that will cause her to give you one of her amazing hugs and kisses (and maybe even inspire her to bake a batch of cookies just for you)!

Each of these fun and thoughtful gifts have the title "Nana" on them. Many of them can be personalized with the kids or grandkid's names or pictures as well.

And all of these hand-selected gifts are guaranteed to put a huge smile on her face

- although I can't guarantee that she'll bake you cookies!

Nana Picture Frames

What grandmother doesn't love to show off pictures of her grandchildren? A picture frame with a fabulous picture of the grandkids is an affordable gift that will thrill her year-round.

You can obviously use any type of frame, but I think the frames that have the title "Nana" in them are extra-special. Here are a few of my favorites:

Nana Jewelry

Most grandmothers love to wear jewelry - so why not give her a fabulous piece of Nana jewelry? Here are some of my favorite Nana bracelets.

Women's Stainless Steel Engraved 'I love Nana' Heart Charm bracelet with 7.5 inches cable chain, Best Gift for Nanas
Women's Stainless Steel Engraved 'I love Nana' Heart Charm bracelet with 7.5 inches cable chain, Best Gift for Nanas

This sweet bracelet features a heart charm that's elegantly engraved with the title "Nana" on the front.

The back has the sentimental saying,

"Nana's love is extra special, no one can take her place"

She'll love wearing this bracelet - and showing it off to all her friends!

This stylish pendant is just what the fashionista grandma wants!

Simple yet elegant necklace is perfect (and sturdy enough) for everyday wear.

Nana Grandma Tree of Life Glass Tile Pendant Necklace w/chain

A truly unique pendant that symbolizes the tree of life.

The Tree of Life symbolizes many important qualities, including wisdom, strength, beauty and protection - what a wonderful description of Nana!

I've also made loads of jewelry (not nearly this nice) with my kids, using materials from one of the local craft stores such as Micheal's or Hobby Lobby. The kids loved picking out special beads that they thought Nana would particularly enjoy.

For really young kids, have them string the beads on colorful pipe cleaners - it's much easier than trying to deal with string when toddlers are crafting. You can just twist the pipe cleaner closed to form the bracelet, or combine several pipe cleaners to make a necklace.

Tea Sets

I just ran across this while I was going through Amazon's site and had to share.

How darling is this?

My kids always thought tea with their grandmother was such a special treat.

Now both Granny and the grandkid can each have their own, perfectly sized mug.

And it will look adorable as a decoration when it's not being used. She could display the set on its own or fill the cups with flowers.

It's a great stand-alone gift, or pair it with tea and cookies if you'd like.

As cute as the tea set for two is, what do you do if Nana has more than one grandchild?

The whole group can have a tea party with this beautiful set, which is available in 4 lovely colors.

Formal enough to make tea a special elegant occasion, yet inexpensive enough to use with even young grandchildren.

Angel Figurine with Flowers

I love this sweet angel figurine on the left (probably because I always thought of my Mom as an angel.

It's makes so many statements - it says "I Love You", it lets her know that you consider her an angel in your life, and it gives her a permanent bouquet of flowers - a lot to say in one gift!

Nana Blankets, Afghans and Pillows

Snuggling with Nana is the best! These cozy blankets, throws, and pillows will keep her warm and comfy throughout the year.

Some of these gifts a can be personalized with the names of her loved ones so that she will always be reminded of how much she is loved.

If you're the crafty sort, a fun idea is to make a quilt for Nana with her family member's handprints on it. You can find some great tips on how to do this at Kristen Duke Photography. She swears that all you need to be able to do is to sew a straight line to make a quilt.

If you have lots of out-of-town family members, you could mail them the quilt squares for them to add their handprints to.

I have to admit; I haven't actually tried this. But I am learning to sew a straight line (it's been quite a struggle for me, as I am not the least bit crafty), so once I master that...you never know!

This is an adorable little plaque (3" tall by 7" wide) that makes a huge statement.

A cute and inexpensive gift that will mean the world to her!

Nana Charms

A gorgeous Nana charm is a fun addition to an existing charm bracelet, or you can add one of these charms to a chain to create a beautiful necklace. My mom loved charm bracelets, even though she never had one.

If your mom doesn't have a charm bracelet, one of these charms would be the perfect start to a treasured gift! Plus you can always give her additional charms on other gift-giving occasions.

Nana Mugs

My mom was a coffee fiend, so I especially appreciate these fun coffee mugs!

This is the perfect way to start her day off in style every morning when she drinks her coffee, tea, or hot chocolate from one of these delightful mugs.

This makes a wonderful gift all by itself, or you could pair it with gourmet coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

Have the kids bake a loaf of banana bread or make chocolate-covered coffee spoons for a fun touch.

Mugs are also easy for kids to decorate. Kaboose.com has a really easy tutorial for decorating a coffee mug using the kiddo's fingerprints. I'm sure any Nana would love to wake up each morning to a cheerful mug like this!

Nana Shirts and Sweatshirts

These adorable shirts are the perfect apparel for playing with the grandkids! Several of these shirts can have the grandchildren's names added to them for a special touch.

Many of these also have matching sweatshirts, tote bags or coffee cups.

Gift Ideas for Nanas Who Cook

My mom was a wonderful cook, and some of my kids' favorite memories center around the special meals and treats that she would make.

Is your Nana a fabulous cook? If she loves nothing better than whipping up a wonderful meal or a favorite batch of cookies, here are some gifts that she's sure to enjoy.

My kids were very fortunate to have a marvelous Nana in their lives (they also have a Por-Por, which is Chinese for grandmother). I thought it was interesting that my Mom knew that she wanted to be called Nana well before she ever had grandchildren.

I never called either of my grandmothers Nana...one I called Ma, and the other I called Grandmomma. I already know that I want to be called Nana once I have grandchildren. (note to my kids: there's no hurry here. No need for you to think about having kids for another 10 or 15 years)!

Do you have a Nana in your life? What do you call your grandmother?

I always called my grandmothers Grandma. I no longer have either and my kids unfortunately don't have a Grandma from either side. I'm the oldest women in my close family. Hopefully it will be awhile before I become Nana:) Great gift ideas

We called my grandmother "Nanny". I didn't know that wasn't here name until I was an adult. She left earth when I was 4 years old, so I never really knew her. If I did, I would have loved giving her a special gift like the ones you have offered. So thoughtful.

I never had a grandmother in my life. When I met her at 16, I called her Emma. I had two mothers, my mom that raised me, I called Mama, and in her latter years, I called my Mother, by Mother. All the Nana gifts are sweet. I like the idea of the picture frames with a special photo. I love lockets, and once saw one with a photo of my Mother and me in it, but that was only once, long ago. It had our names engraved on it.
