Gifts for "The Walking Dead" Fans
Send More Brains!
The first zombie movie I ever remember seeing was "Return of the Living Dead."
I caught it on cable, and it amused me and terrified me at the same time. It also sparked in my a love for the zombie genre. Before that I had only been a vampire girl. Now I was seeking out zombie books to read, and zombie movies to watch.
So you can only imagine my excitement in 2010 when I found out that there was going to be a whole television series all about zombies.
Zombies Caught Me Unaware
Somehow, despite being a zombie fan in general, I had never known that there was an entire comic book seires about zombies.
That is most likely because I'm not a very big comic book reader.
However, when I found out there was going to be an entire television seires about them called "The Walking Dead" I informed my husband that we WOULD be watching it.
Then I found out that it was based on the comic series and I informed my husband that he WOULD be guying me those comics.
Well, I still haven't gotten my copy of the comic compendium, but we have been watching the series, and I've been eagerly awaiting the start of the next season.
The Graphic Novel, and the DVD
The two most obvious gifts you can buy for a fan of the series "The Walking Dead" would be to get them a copy of the comic book/graphic novels that started it all.
Or, you could buy them the series on DVD.
Either way I'm sure they will love it!
If you know someone who loves The Walking Dead, why not buy them the comic. Compendium one covers issues #1 through #48. That should give them more than enough reading material to last a while.
The Walking Dead - Trailer May be Too Graphic for Some
The Walking Dead is in its 4th season right now. Our little pocket of survivors has found a safe haven inside a prison.
But how safe is it really?
Check out this trailer for Season 4.
If you are not already a fan, does it make you want to watch the series?
Comics VS Series
In traveling the online fandom world of The Walking Dead I have found there there can be a great division between TWD fans.
There are the fans who read the comics first and find them better, and get a little annoyed at the changes AMC makes in the show.
Then there are the fans who never really read the comics, and love the show because they have nothing to compare it to.
I suppose I fall in the latter category, though I'd like to collect all the graphic novels so I can read the original tale.
Do you prefer the Comics or the TV series?
My "Pet" Zombie
A few years ago I entered a contest to win my very own zombie.
I didn't really EXPECT to win. I never win these things. But I DID win. And very soon I had my very own undead friend delivered to my door.
He stands a foot tall, and comes with a slightly gnawed on leg, an empty bottle of vodka and a tiny pack of cigarettes.
He has a sign hanging around his neck that says "The End is Near."
I think in his pre-zombie life he was a homeless man, preaching Revelations on the street corner, never knowing just how right he was.
A Zombie of Your Own
Well, my pet zombie up there might not be from The Walking Dead.
You can get your hands on TONS of the zombies from the series though (and the heros too if you want).
Look below for just a HANDFUL of The Walking Dead action figures that are available.
Or, even better, get yourself a LIFE SIZED Daryl Dixon of your very own.
Fangirls everywhere are weeping with joy...
Daryl, Rick or Other?
Who is your favorite (lasting) Walking Dead man?

Walking Dead Clothes
Sometimes you don't want to read or watch anything, but you still want to shout, "I LOVE ZOMBIES" from the proverbial rooftop.
There is a way to do this that is both outstanding and a bit more subtle.
You can wear your heart on your sleeve, or your love of zombies on your chest.
Graphic tees are very popular. You can find t-shirts for your favorite band, your favorite cartoon character, and now even your favorite zombies!
That's right, there are TONS of t-shirts for fans of The Walking Dead.
Don't Open, Dead Inside
Cold weather is upon us, so this is the perfect time to buy something warm and cozy. Whether it is for yourself or for a friend, this Walking Dead Hoodie is a definite win!
It shows the iconic locked doorway from season one, with zombie arms reaching out hungrily.
"Don't Open. Dead Inside."
You'll be the envy of all your zombie loving friends when you keep warm and safe in this Walking Dead hoodie!
The Walking Dead T-Shirts
There is no more obvious way to proclaim your love of something than to wear it on your body for other people to see.
The Walking Dead t-shirts would make a great gift for anyone. You can't have too many shirts telling the world how awesome you think zombies are!
This one is mostly for the ladies. Daryl seems to be a very big female favorite.
Though the guys might like this more masculine portrayal of Daryl and his brother Merle.
This one shows one of the more iconic scenes from the series, shortly after Rick wakes up in a ravaged hospital he finds himself facing THIS door. Would you open it?
This one is a little more simple. While there are no zombies on it, there is no doubt you support The Walking Dead.
And following the advise on THIS shirt might just keep you alive.
One More - For the Ladies
I mentioned above that Daryl Dixon is a favorite character of many of the female fans.
That being said, what Daryl loving lady woudn't want to proudly proclaim herslelf "Mrs. Daryl Dixon"?
I know I would!
Can you think of any more zombie themed gifts? Do you think you could survive the zombie apocalypse? Do you think that Carl needs to be kept on a SHORT leash?
