Give a Leprechaun a Gift for St. Patrick's Day

Updated on March 22, 2014

Irish Leprechauns

Each year when St. Patrick's Day rolls around thousands, maybe even millions of people try to think of ways to catch a Leprechaun. After all, everyone knows that Leprechauns have lots of gold.

Some people try to lure them so when the Leprechaun is close enough, they can pounce on him and catch him. Others build traps and add bait in hopes of catching these Irish creatures.

I say let's give these little guys a break and this year leave a gift for a Leprechaun instead.

Leprechaun Stories

We've all heard the stories about how mischievous Leprechauns can be. But, let me ask you this. If someone was always trying to steal your money, wouldn't you become a little mischievous, too?

Leprechauns are actually hard workers. They spend their time making shoes and are known as cobblers or shoemakers. Do they get appreciated for all of their hard efforts? No! All most people ever think of is trying to catch one for St. Patrick's Day.

When is the last time you heard of anyone inviting a Leprechaun out to lunch on Leprechaun Day? Yes, it's an actual holiday celebrated on May 13th.

It's time to turn things around and show some appreciation for these guys.

Leprechaun Coins

How many times have you heard kids excitedly ask their parents to drive them to the end of a rainbow to try to find a Leprechaun's Pot O Gold? Because of this, Leprechauns have to be very resourceful as to where they keep their treasure.

Leprechaun Cauldron

Cauldrons have many different purposes. They can be used for cooking over an open fire. Witches use them for making potions. In the Leprechaun's case, he uses it to hide his gold coins in. Wouldn't you love to find one of these?

Over time cauldrons can become weather beaten. Many a Leprechaun would appreciate a new shiny cauldron for their coins.

Leprechaun Hat

Leprechauns like to wear green clothing. This includes a green top hat with a buckle. Sadly, sometimes these hats get damaged when they fall off of the Leprechauns while they're running away to safety after someone tries to capture them.

Help a Leprechaun retain his clothing pride by presenting him with a new hat. In fact, let yourself get a feel of his fashion sense by getting a hat for yourself as well.

Leprechaun Clothing

You can often hear the sound of Leprechauns busily hammering away while making shoes. They keep their tools in a special type of tool belt. As with anything, tool belts can start to wear out over time, especially for a Leprechaun's as he has such a long life span.

Keep Leprechauns busy and happy with a new leather apron tool belt. Be sure there are plenty of pockets so all types of shoe making tools can be held.

Leprechaun Song

Leprechauns love music and dancing. Play this song to help attract a Leprechaun.

Leprechaun Debate

Do Leprechauns deserve a gift for St. Patrick's Day?

Information on Leprechauns

Should you decide to go ahead and capture a Leprechaun anyway, you can bargain with him for his freedom.

Leprechaun Size

Leprechauns are known to be short. Think of them as the size of a small child.

No matter what their size, join me in helping them have a Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Stop catching Leprechauns and give them a gift instead!
