Decorate a Bathroom with Skulls and Skeletons

The Skeletons have come out of the closet and headed off to the bathroom. There they have decided to remain in residence, at least until after Halloween if not longer.

Decorating a bathroom at Halloween or any other time with skulls and skeletons is a way of being a little bit scary at Halloween without being too over the top scary like some Halloween decorations.

Depending on the decorating style, like gothic you can even make skeletons and skulls chic and trendy instead of just scary or trendy (pirates).

Who knows? You might even like the Gothic skeleton décor that you'll keep a Skull or Skeleton Bathroom for long past Halloween.

Skeletons and Skulls are Scary, Spooky & Stylish

Skeletons are a great teaching tool for teaching anatomy at Halloween. Calacas and calavera (skeletons and skulls) are a common decorating theme for Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead.

As Halloween decorations the skeletons and skulls are frequently scary, but for Dia de los Muertos they are a large part of the culture. Skulls and skeletons can be used as a spooky theme for decorating cakes and cupcakes.

Skeletons and skulls can also be used as scary, spooky and stylish bathroom decorations depending on the desired décor. Skulls and voodoo bones will give spooky look, DENY Skulls a more updated and trendy, Sugar Skulls a cultural Day of the Dead look and pirates a swashbuckling, whimsical look (a great theme for Pirates of the Caribbean fans).

Add a few skulls and skeletons to your bathroom as shower curtains, toilet paper holder or toilet bowl cleaner to get a bit of a spooky effect to the bathroom.

Create a Gothic themed bathroom using decorating products like Abstract Skull Decals, Flocked Skulls Wallpaper, Ghoulish Glamour Skull Toothpicks or Skull footed bowls help to create a stylish skeleton and skull bathroom look.

Skulls & Skeleton Bones

Decorate the Bathroom in Skulls and Bones

Decorating with skulls and bones is probably one of the best ways to create a scary Halloween bathroom bone theme.

Include specially designed skull bathroom products like the toilet paper holder or toilet bowl cleaner to bring more skeletons into the bathroom.

Use other skeleton products like a Skull Stash Box to hold cotton balls or cotton swabs and the Skull Coffee Mug as a bathroom water glass. The skull bowl to the right can be used as a toothbrush holder on the sink or turned into a paper cup dispenser.

Put in a Skull Area Runner Rug on the floor. Accent the skulls and bones shower curtain, with black or bone colored shower curtain rings and towels.

If you want to make the bathroom decorations extra scary for Halloween, add a Skeleton Wall Decal, scatter some Halloween skeleton bones and set out a skeleton with lantern. Just be sure to remember that that skeletons are hiding in the bathroom, so you don't get yourself spooked.

Decorate in a Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Theme

Sugar Skulls are one of the many skull and skeleton designs used as part of Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. They also make for fun and a bit whimsical skull designs for the bathroom, like the Sugar Skull Shower Curtains from DENY Designs.

Once you have chosen a Sugar Skull Skeleton Shower Curtain, pick accent colors for the towels and the shower curtain rings, darker colors for a more somber look, brighter colors for a lighter look.

Other Dia de los Muertos decorations to include would be one of the Day of the Dead Skull Wall Art with LED eyes, witch come in several colors. You can even find Sugar Skull Light Switch Plates to add to the wall.

Use a Day of the Dead Mug for toothbrushes or as a water mug and add in Day of the Dead Rug to accent the floor. The Day of the Dead red and white Sugar Skull Figurine is a great matching accessory for DENY design's red Day of the Dead Shower Curtain.

Try a Pirate-Themed Skull and Crossbones

Finding fun pirate accessories for the bathroom is pretty easy with pirate themed shower curtains, towels, wall décor and night lights. You can even find a glow in the dark Pirate Toilet Seat.

Putting up a skull and crossbones shower curtain or the Jolly Roger, pirate flag is a fun way to create a Pirate-themed bathroom perfect for pirate fans and especially Pirates of the Caribbean fans. The hard part may be choosing which skull and crossbones shower curtain to use, one with a black background, one with a white background or one with an updated version of the Jolly Rodger pirate flag.

Accent the skull and crossbones shower curtains with black or white colored shower curtain rings and towels. Depending on the design or other bathroom accessories chosen, you might even add in some red accents like a Keep Out Pirate Rug or a round Skull and Crossbones Rug.

Decorating with skulls and skeletons in the bathroom can be done more subtly than putting up a skeleton on skull shower curtain to create a stylish, retro, Gothic décor.

Products like the Flocked Skulls Wallpaper to the or skull decals add in skeletons and skulls to a décor in an almost hidden fashion, more like the Disney Haunted Mansion.

Instead of Hidden Mickeys, you can add hidden skulls and skeletons.

@Scarlettohairy: For some reason, skeletons aren't that creepy to me, just a little creepy. Probably from taking anatomy courses - I see them as bones.
