The Best Trick-or-Treat Candies for a Not-So-Scary Halloween!

Viennese candy maker Eduard Haas III invented the first Pez sweets way back in 1927, naming them after the German word for peppermint - PfeffErminZ - the very first Pez flavour. Those peppermints, however, were sold in unremarkable tins. The distinctive and highly collectible Pez Dispensers we know and love today didn't appear until the 1950s, when the United States Pez business made the historic decision to decorate their dispensers with heads and market them at kids.

Whilst an early Halloween Pez Dispenser was issued in 1956 featuring a simple black transfer design of a Witch on the side of a red dispenser, it was the following year which saw the appearance of the very first traditional dispenser with a character head - a red Witch head on a black stem with an embossed witch on broomstick design! This historic and rare piece of Pez memorabilia is still highly sought after buy "Pez heads" (as avid Pez collectors are known) today, but there have been plenty more Halloween Pez Dispensers issued over the years, which are easier to track down and make the perfect gift over the holiday.

Halloween Pez Dispensers are a classic Halloween treat to offer trick-or-treaters!

Adults sometimes forget that Halloween can be a scary time for young children who really believe that ghosts and ghouls are lurking outside their window on the night of October 31st.

This Halloween costume, which turns you into a walking and talking giant Clown Pez Dispenser puts the fun back into the holiday, although I have to confess, I've always found clowns pretty scary myself!

Made of screen printed fabric mounted over foam, it includes a matching clown character headpiece and is a fully licensed Pez product.

NB - The black top and pants aren't included so remember to wear dark clothing when you put this costume on for best effect!

I accidentally started a Pez collection nearly 13 years ago. I had one on my desk at my new job. Before I knew it, people started giving them to me as gifts. I think they are so much fun!
