Putting feelings into words can be extremely challenging, especially if writing is not your forte. You may even feel that words are inadequate to express your profound inner feelings. Though this may be the case, there is nothing your loved one will appreciate more than to see their influence on you recognized in a sweet verse, poem, song or message. In fact, a well-thought out message can have far more significance than the gift it accompanies. If you feel stumped on what to write in your Father's Day card this year, this page will help you along the way. The Key to Writing a Moving Father's Day Message

Speak from the heart!

Though pre-packaged messages always come in handy, they can render a greeting card or note rather impersonal, lacking in both that essential personal touch and in thought. Imagine if you were a father - would you appreciate a mediocre message written from your child's heart, or a well-written poem by someone you've never met? I believe most fathers would prefer a thoughtful message written by their child. With this in mind, I encourage you all to use these Father's Day poems, verses, songs and messages as a guideline in writing your own personal message. Try quoting segments and embedding them into your own written work. Or, try to create your own verse using one of these messages as a springboard for inspiration. No matter what you decide to do, I know that your Father's Day message will be a success!

What should my Father's Day message be about? - Inspired ideas for effective Happy Father's Day messages

You may be asking yourself - what should I write in my message for Father's Day? Rather than overwhelming him with a waterfall of flattering yet meaningless adjectives - i.e. 'great' 'amazing' and 'wonderful' - think about exactly why your Father is important to you and what makes him unique and special. You can discover your father's importance by asking yourself the following questions.

  1. What is your most precious memory with your father?
  2. What is your father good at?
  3. What sort of things do you do with your father when you have a moment together?
  4. What hobbies, interests or personality traits do you have in common?
  5. What was the most difficult experience your father helped you overcome?

How To Deliver Your Message To Your Father - Creative ways of sending your Father's Day message!

Now that you have your message prepared and ready to send, you have to decide HOW you want to send it. Besides the traditional Father's Day greeting card, there are a number of fun and creative ways you can deliver your message to your father.

  1. If you have chosen a song for your father, give him a radio dedication as this little boy did for his father on Father's Day! Otherwise, have a radio DJ read out your message on your dad's favourite radio program!
  2. Send your dad a short yet witty Father's Day SMS message. For instance, give him a small hint as to where he can find his Father's Day gift.
  3. Leave a heartfelt note in his briefcase, lunchbox or whatever bag he takes to work. Even after a long day at work, he will not be able to help smiling when he sees it!
  4. Read your message out loud, especially if you have chosen a Father's Day poem!
