Happy Birthday Momma

Updated on April 7, 2012

My beautiful Mom In Heaven

A poem straight to heaven for my mommy

This is my 2nd poem of the month of April National Poem Month.. this is dedicated to my dear sweet mom.

Momma you have been gone since July of last year.

You left us so peacefully into the day.

The tears I shed they still come new

Your memories and love

But I am still blue

Because He Lives,.. She lives

Were so profound to me

You were always there when I needed you most

All your phone calls and cards

And standing ovations

The support and devotion

You gave to each of us

I have to say you were the best mom

You loved me no matter what

Then you were gone

We buried you that hot summer day

And all I wanted was to die with you

And crawl in that box

But from the grave

You lifted me up

Put me back on my feet

And shoved me down my path

You would call to me

In the middle of the night

Wake up wake up

We need to talk

Mom, I would cry

Is that you?

I know your voice anywhere

I go

Deborah please stop crying.

It’s alright she said.

I am here with you

And it’s not so bad.

The winter came and

The New Year was fun

And now it’s spring

And your birthday has come

And all I want to do is celebrate

With you one last time

My sweet mother dear

So when I get to heaven

I know you will be there

I miss you momma

I miss our long talks

The days of old

The time we spent

Mom I just miss

So Much!

This Day!

Beautiful yet heart wrenching poem. I am fortunate to still have my mom at 88 years old and absolutely dread the day I will lose her as we are so close. I think the poem was a lovely tribute to your mother and I think she would tell you exactly what you wrote. God Bless you.

Beautiful birthday poetry to your Mother Debbie There is nothing that can take the place of our Mother in our hearts, my Mother is gone too, but knowing we will be rejoined again makes it less painful.. Take care..Hugs..

Oh my dear friend Debbie;what a truly beautiful poem;from a warm hearted and caring daughter to her beautiful and loving mother .

This poem will catch the hearts of all who read;and thank you so much for sharing this true love with us all;it is an honour to read.

They may be gone from our homes but never from our hearts.

I am sure that you mother has the biggest smile ever for her daughter as she read this.

Our loved ones are never gone they are in our hearts and all around forevermore.

I am bookmarking these poems into my 'Special Hubs' slot.

Take care and lots of love to you my dear friend.

Sweet tribute to your Mother, Deb. I remember your first one, how beautiful and sweet that was. Your mother did look so sweet. There is nothing like the Love of a mother and daughter, even if you've been a Daddy's girl, i've heard. You are lucky to have grown up in a loving home. There were abused children like me that could only dream of being loved by a mother like you. Consider yourself fortunate, Deb.

Thanks Debbie for sharing your heart in this inspiration. Mothers are with us forever. They knew our pain and our hapinness. Like Gypsy Rose said, your mom is always around and just put your hand on your heart and feel the beat of life..and hope. Thanks again for being yourself!
