Hen Party Activities in Cambridge
Cambridge as a Hen Party Destination
Whilst not being in the top 5 UK Hen Party destinations, Cambridge is extremely popular and hundreds of Hen Parties pass through every summer. Of the usual list of Hen Party activities, Cambridge can provide most, if not all of them as well as offering some unique activities and ideas not available at many other location throughout the uk. Private chauffeured punting is the prime example of this, along side alfresco afternoon, bicycle tours and historic walking tours or treasure hunts. Here I am going to look at some of my favourite activities in Cambridge which are perfect for Hen Parties. They are all tried and tested by me!
Private Chauffeured Punting
A must do activity........
As someone involved in the Punting industry in Cambridge it is no surprise that it comes top of my list. But objectively punting is one of the most popular hen party activities in Cambridge.. My top tip for including punting in your Hen Party would be to opt for a time when the river is a little quieter. Early evening is a top choice. Fill a punt with excited hens ready for a night out on the town, glasses brimming with prosecco and a hunky chauffeur to effortlessly punt you down the River Cam. And of course no trip would be complete without the bridge to be getting up on the back of the punt for a punting lesson..!! For an added twist why not add cocktail making on board your punt tour. You could have a hunky bar man from Cambridge's hottest club - Lola Lo on board your punt for cocktail making with a twist.... the hottest new punting tour in Cambridge..
Shake it up baby.....
After discussing cocktail making on a punt it seems only fair that we mention the vast array of other cocktail making master-classes availably in Cambridge for Hen Parties. Cocktail Making sessions and experiences have become an increasingly popular Hen Party activity in Cambridge. Cocktail making classes. A variety of different cocktail making sessions are available, from a mini session including 2 cocktails per person, ideal for hen parties on a tight budget to a premium cocktail making master-class including bubbly on arrival, 3 different cocktails, shots, a cocktail competition and other exciting elements such as exploding oranges, and decapitating bottles with swords......! Definitely one to recommend! In between these 2 options there an array of different bars within central Cambridge offering cocktail making sessions, generally lasting 90 minutes to 2 hours and involving 3 cocktails per person. A fab night out and not only for hens.....!
A vintage style alfresco extravaganza.
Cambridge, like most UK cities, has plenty of hotels, restaurants and cafes offering afternoon tea in various shapes and sizes. And whilst they are all a great option for afternoon tea if you are looking for something a little different for a hen party (or birthday etc....) then what could be more lovely than enjoying an alfresco afternoon tea by the river - perhaps before or after your private chauffeured punting tour. This generous vintage style afternoon tea is served on exquisite vintage china (or with disposable picnic ware for a portable or cheaper option if on a tight budget) and consists of delicate finger sandwiches or mini bridge rolls, scones with jam and cream, brownies and of course large layer cakes all washed down with tea, or for a summery option, iced tea and of course all freshly baked to order. For a twist on the traditional afternoon tea in Cambridge look no further.
The best of the rest.....
There is not time or space to discuss all of the Hen Party activities available in Cambridge. So here is a list of some of the best of the rest for a little inspiration:
*Book up a private dance lesson: learn the moves from your favourite movie, perhaps grease or dirty dancing. or maybe you've always wanted to have a good at burlesque or belly dancing...... Any dance class you can dream up is available in Cambridge.....
*Make a fascinator. Not only is this a fab day time time activities but also means all of the ladies will have something absolutely fabulous to wear to the wedding.
