Looking for Some Great Horse Gifts?

Horses are everywhere! They are on calendars, mugs, games, clothes, and posters for starters. Horse-Opoly is a game that is just like Monopoly but with horse breeds as the spaces you buy. There's so many great things that you can find for anyone of any age. It doesn't matter if they're 2 or 92, you can find something horse related that they'll love!

Come along to see some great horse gifts and horses along the way!

Western Horse Show

Flash is a Tennessee Walking Horse Paint. He's 9 years old and has been showing in 4-H for about 4 years now. I've had him for 6 years. He's a really great horse!

Things You Need for a Western Show

We show our horse at the local horse shows in our area. For the western shows that we do, we need jeans, chaps, a belt, a helmet, and a long sleeve shirt. The classes include western pleasure and western horsemanship. If you're not ready to canter yet, you can do some walk-trot classes. A western horse should go slow and be on a loose rein. They should keep their heads low.

Plush Horses - So cute!

Kids love plush animals to hold and snuggle with. Adults like them because they're so cute to look at and some will bring back those cherished childhood memories. You can't go wrong with a stuffed animal. You can find them in all different colors and sometimes even breeds. They come in all different sizes and either horse or pony. When you don't have any other ideas, a stuffed animal is a great option for kids and adults alike.

The Visible Horse - A Model Horse that You Build

The Visible Horse wasn't very easy for the 4-H kids to put together but they still have fun working on it together.

The Visible Horse Insides

This is a model horse that you put together piece by piece as you learn what each bone is. Once you are finished putting all the bones together, you put the clear covering on. We use this to learn the parts of the horse. We didn't have any model glue so our horse was put together with duct tape.

This is like the visible horse that we have. It comes with lots of pieces. It's very educational and teaches a lot as you're putting it together. Learn where the bones go and the different body organs.

Horse Bookends - Or Door Stop

This door stop has come in handy a lot! It's been one of my favorite horse related gifts!

Door Stop

This is one of the more unique things that I have around my house. it's a heavy metal that will hold up books or keeps doors open. I love looking at this wild horse. I have no idea where you would get something like this. It was given to me as a gift. I think the person found it at a local tack shop so that would probably be the best place to look.

Training A Horse

You can find lots of horse training videos out there either online or on DVD but I always find that it's never as easy as they make it look. You still have to practice over and over before you can perfect the techniques they use.

Horses!

Horse take a lot of time and money to own and train. If you love horses but can't have your own, there's plenty of horse things to fill your house!

Buckskin Horses - Golden body color with black mane and tail

Beautiful Buckskin Horse

I think Buckskin horses are beautiful. They are a golden color with black points. The tips of their ears, their legs and their manes are all dark brown or black. They are a stockier built horse with a lot of muscles. So beautiful!

Colorful Horses - I have a Paint horse - But I think buckskins are so beautiful!

Breyer Buckskin Horses

Breyer has been making model horses for a long time and know how to get it right. They pick fine horses from each breed and then create the model horses after them. They take the time to pick out the details which has made them leaders in the horse model world.

You can see some of the models at horse shows around the country. They will usually have the real horse there and then models for sale. They are usually near the kids areas and they have little plastic model horses that the kids can paint. It's so much fun!!! I think it was a great idea for Breyer to do that.

Lots of Things To Do With the Big Horses

Girls love the big model horses to play with. They don't even need the dolls, it's fun playing with just the horses. They come with lots of accessories like saddles, bridles, blankets, leg wraps, tail wraps and clothes for the girls.

Quarter Horses

Quarter Horses

Quarter Horses are called Quarter Horses because they were bred to run fast. However, they can only go at their fastest speed for a quarter of a mile before they slow down. They have a big motor in the rear and they're usually very levelheaded and work hard. They are very nice horses.

Posters To Hang Up

You can see your favorite horses any time if you find the right poster to hang up on your wall. You can find them at stores, malls, and online.

Show Days are Long and Exhausting

Horse Shows are Exhausting!

It's not easy going to horse shows. It takes a lot of work to get the horse ready for each discipline. Depending on the judge, some shows go really fast but some take forever. Some judges are just faster than others.

I love horses and used to participate in western horse shows and rodeos. I still have a horse but haven't ridden in a while. You and Flash look great! Good Luck on your shows.
