1. The Centre of the Pumpkin

How to draw a Halloween pumpkin step by step

To begin your pumpkin drawing, start by drawing a long oval shape in the middle of your page. The oval should reach a slight point at the top and the bottom. This oval will act as the middle crease of the pumpkin.

2. The Outer Layers Part I

Then, add two more creases on either side of the initial oval, making sure the middle oval slightly overlaps them. These two creases should look similar to the middle crease, but will not have a pointed top or bottom.

3. The Outer Layers Part II

Follow up by adding yet two more creases on either side of the three creases you've already drawn. These two creases should not have a pointy top or bottom, and will remain partially hidden behind the other creases as shown in the picture. You should now have five creases that will constitute the body of your pumpkin!

4. The Stem and Leaf

To make your pumpkin look even more realistic, you can add a long stem coming out of the top of the middle crease. Draw a small oval at the top of the stem to give it a 3D feel. Then, draw a wavy leaf coming out of one side of the stem, and a curly vine coming out of the other side. The result is a complete pumpkin without a jack-o-lantern face.
