How to Have a Valentine's Day Slumber Party
Valentine's Day Party Ideas
So, Valentine's Day is approaching and you don't have a date. You're not the only one! Many females are faced with spending Valentine's Day without a date. It doesn't mean you have to spend it alone, though.
Why not get together with some other singles and throw a Valentine slumber party? Even if you can't do it on the exact holiday due to work or school, you could still throw one over the weekend. Here are some fun slumber party ideas.
Confetti shown here is available from Amazon below.
Although Facebook has become a popular way to send out invitations to parties, there's something nice about going to the mailbox and discovering a party invitation. As it is a slumber party, be sure to remind guests to bring a pillow and blanket.
The next step is decorating. I would suggest some pretty heart shaped balloons for starters to bring a nice splash of color. You might consider adding some paper heart confetti to the table as well as a nice centerpiece. To give the area a warm feeling, place some nice candles around the room. String lights is another option.

Valentine Sting Lights
I really like string lights. I think it's a fun way to decorate, along with being very pretty. Here's a nice set that would work well for a Valentine's party.
As seen above.
Valentine's Day Party Food
Of course candy comes to mind when one thinks of Valentine's Day. However, it just isn't enough to serve party guests. You can keep it simple with the old standby favorite of pizza. Just be sure to have a variety of toppings as everyone has different food likes, including at least one vegetarian pizza.
Another idea is to throw a potluck and let everyone bring their favorite dish. If you wish to keep the food on the light side, then why not just serve a variety of tasty appetizers? You could bring out one or two at a time throughout the evening.

Valentine Treat Ideas
Treats are a must at any party. I happen to love S'mores. I like the idea of making them along with eating them. You can do this easily with a S'mores making kit. Here's one that makes eleven of these tasty treats.
Gourmet Popcorn Treats
What's a slumber party without some delicious popcorn? Being that it is a special occassion, consider serving some gourmet popcorn. In fact, a fun idea would to make a portion of the party a popcorn tasting event whereas guests can sample a varitety of different popcorns. Personally, I always like to serve a variety of tastes. This is a great package that should be a party pleaser.
Fun Valentine Party Games
Depending on your guests, you might like to play some fun party games. If so, it would be nice to have some kind of trinket to give to the game winners. Ideas include a simple candle, cute decoration or some Valentine's chocolates. If you have a dollar type store nearby, you can find some great items there to hand out as party gifts for the winners. As far as games go, here are some suggestions.
Are you planning a Valentine's Day party?
Valentine's Day with Friends
Spending Valentine's Day with friends is a great way to celebrate the holiday even if you don't have a date. After the food, games and general party fun, have everyone lay out their blankets and pillows for movie time.
Romantic comedies would be a fun addition to any movies that are being watched. Although there are many newer great one out there, don't forget the classics. Here's a trailer for one of my favorites.

Go ahead, be naughty and have a pretend Valentine's date. Who would you choose?
Who do you think is hotter? Taylor Lautner or Justin Bieber?
Taylor Lautner is awesome!
Valentine's Gifts for Friends
In case anyone is feeling left out because they're not getting a gift for Valentine's Day, think about having a gift exchange. Make sure the dollar amount to be spent can fit everyone's budget.
At some point during the evening, assign everyone who wants to participate a number to place on their gift. Now, on small pieces of paper, write one number that matches the number on each gift. Put the numbers in a bag and let each guest pull one out. Once all are drawn, let everyone take the gift that matches their number.
When it's almost midnight, if guests are old enough, have a champagne toast to top off the night. Whether participants are in their teens or senior citizens, a Valentine's slumber party is a fun way to celebrate the holiday without having to worry about having a date.
