How to make a simple Christmas ornament a special gift
Most people love Christmas ornaments whether their Christmas tree is home decor-oriented or just holiday homespun. There's probably not a gift that be used as much over the years as a Christmas ornament, and they will think of you each year when the ornaments are hung on the tree.
When you are gifting a Christmas ornament, presentation is everything. You want to wrap that ornament, no matter how humble, in a way that says it is the main attraction. There are cute little ornament boxes that are a good choice. If the ornament is not terribly fragile, a small gift bag can be nice with matching fillers. Shredded paper fillers can actually serve as padded protection, and they come in various colors.
Personalizing a Christmas ornament automatically raises it to a higher level of special! You can even personalize a storebought ornament with a gold or silver permanent marker to create something that will be a special memory. Include the date, too, if possible. You can even decorate a glass ornament with those markers for a nice gift, even if you are not particularly artistic.
Replacing the hanging material with something very luxurious is a nice touch. Velvet or metallic wired ribbon is perfect for Christmas ornaments and looks wonderful on the tree.
There are so many craft mediums that lend themselves to Christmas ornaments. If you stitch an ornament that is one-dimensional, it could possibly be slid in a beautiful Christmas card for a nice surprise.
