How To Plan A Children's Easter Party

Updated on March 4, 2015

The Planning Is All Done For You

All you need to plan your child's Easter party is right here. From the invitations to what to put into the goodie bags. Two hours of jam-packed fun that will have the kids talking about for to come. You'll be the envy of all the mothers.

I have been doing birthday parties for my two sons which are now well into their teens and I'm looking forward to planning my daughter's parties as she is starting school this year. Through trial and error I have created a problem free memorable party. Still to this day my sons friends have great memories of those parties.

Invitations

You can make your own, be sure you include the date, time (start and ending), place, phone number, and email.

I like to attach a home made button to the invitation. It's a guarantee that the invitation will make it into the parents hands, and not getting lost in the bottom of a backpack.

I also add a map and detailed instructions on how to get to my place because I always got a call from a parent saying "I can't find you house!" half an hour after the party had started.

Decorations and Supplies

You could go crazy with a lot decorations, but really, the kids won't remember them. Just a few will do, but you will definitely need paper plates, cups, and napkins.

5 Movie

6 The kids go home .... YAY!

7 Have a hot bath! Or a stiff drink

1 Craft

I start with a sit down craft. This keeps the guest busy till everyone arrives. There is always going to be someone late.

An easy theme for an Easter craft is of course egg coloring.

  • Easter Egg Hunt: What's an Easter party without an Easter egg hunt? Use small chocolate eggs and hide the before your guest arrive
  • Egg Rolling: Have a Start and finish line, then have the children push the egg with their noses along the track. The first one crosses the finish line wins.
  • Spoon And Egg Walk: Balance a hard boiled egg on a long wooden spoon. The first person that gets across the finish line without dropping wins. If they do drop it they have to go back and start again.
  • Pin The Cottontail On The Bunny: Blindfold the child and give them a few spins.Have them pin a cotton ball onto a picture of a bunny
  • Face Painting: Easy and fun to do. You can paint Easter eggs, yellow chicks, flowers or make them into bunnies.

3 Eat

Nothing is simpler then Pizza. Have a non meat pizza, there will be vegetations. Cake or cupcakes for dessert

4 A Visit From The Easter Bunny

This is were your husband comes in handy. Have him dress up as the Easter bunny and give out the goodie bags. Take pictures with the children sitting on his lap. You could use a digital camera, but I like to give them something to take home. So I invested in a polaroid camera.

Goodie Bags

Kids love goodie bags. Chose fun inexpensive toys, pencils but seeing that they have gotten chocolate egg from the Easter egg hunt. Hopefully they haven't eaten them all by now!

5 Movie

For the last part of the party I put on a movie, it calms everyone down. As the children will be leaving at different times, an half an hour movie is all that is needed.

6 The kids go home

High Five!

You survived a a group of screaming happy kids. You have given them a memory that will last forever

What fun! My son is now a grown man. I don't think he would want an Easter Party but maybe some day I will have grandbabies.
