Gift Baskets Make Inexpensive Gifts
Gift Baskets for Christmas and Other Occasions Make an Inexpensive Family Gift
If you have a family to buy for at Christmas but have limited dollars to spend a gift basket can be a great solution...especially when buying for large families.
Think of it as using a basket rather than a stocking for the contents. A basket makes a stylish gift without costing the earth. In fact even the most expensive gift basket here is under $100!
Many ready made baskets will have a range of items that cater for all members of the family but to make it really personal you can make up your own Christmas gift basket. You can add a personal item to the ready made gift basket too!
Create Your Own Gift Basket
By creating your own basket of Christmas gifts you can include a 'stocking stuffer' gift for each member of the family.
Boxes of chocolates, candy, cookies all make up the contents of goodies in your own basket creation....you can make the theme whatever you choose. Pamper, tea, gourmet, kitchen...the ideas are endless. And it's up to you to fit within your budget.
I actually prefer to make up my own gift baskets as I love the creation and imagination process. It's fun and you can ensure that each member has something that they love.
If you wrap the gifts it can make a special surprise!

This basket would look great with bread, jams and home made goodies. The handles fold down so this is a plus for storing and makes a handy feature. The size is approximately 13 X 10 inches.
Looking for something a bit bigger? This measures 7.1 x 15.75 x 10.7 inches. This basket can be given with the lid open for visual effect. It will serve as a handy storage box for the recipient.
Tea and Coffee Gift Basket
Tea and coffee
A variety pack with selections from the robust Irish Breakfast to the lighter Lady Grey. Perfect for your gift basket.
A beautifully packaged sampler for the tea lover.
Cheese and Wine
Cheese and wine lend themselves to making beautiful basket contents. You can get cheese in tins if the basket may sit around for a while.
Add things like crackers for the cheese and perhaps a nice cheese board and knife set. Olives, gherkins and pate make wonderful additions too. Think about adding a couple of attractive glasses for the wine.
Make the basket up as a picnic hamper and include and nice ground rug. Have fun!
A gift for everyone but more like a lucky dip! Who doesn't enjoy a mystery?

Including the Family Pet
While I haven't given a basket with a cat in it I have included a gift for the family pet. Last time I made up such a basket (actually it was a box, but doesn't matter, it's the idea) I lined the bottom with a pet blanket and placed goodies on top.
You can include little treats for the family pet, they're usually inexpensive.
