Halloween - fun for children and adults. I was noted for my annual Halloween parties and creative costumes.

Choose Faces and Designs for Pumpkin Carving

With the great tools for carving jack o lanterns now, one can go far beyond the traditional smiling face on a pumpkin. Need ideas and inspiration? Here are plenty of examples of what can be done with a pumpkin. I've gathered together some designs for beginners and some that require some practice and skill.

Halloween is fun for all ages, so both kids and adults want to carve a jack o' lantern. Also popular are no-carve jack o-lanterns so even very young children can safely decorate one.

More Great Ideas for a Pumpkin

I admit that when I'm faced with a pumpkin fresh from the field, I can't think of anything to carve besides the traditional triangle eyes and nose with a smiling mouth. Now with a book like this one, I can go wild with amazing jack-o-lantern ideas.

What an Amazing Carving!

What fun. A child can press these glow-in-the-dark teeth into the pumpkin for a great look.

When I was a kid, we settled for the same old jack-o-lantern face consisting of three triangles (for the eyes and nose) and a crooked carved grin. But now the pumpkin can have a full set of pearly white teeth.

I went with mini pumpkins this year, and they're too small to carve. I do enjoy seeing how other people get creative with their pumpkins.

I have no artistic abilities myself. If I carved or painted a pumpkin it would look like a 2 yr. old was handed a marker. I have to use stencils :) I do love looking at other people work. These are pretty awesome!

Now this is a very creative Jack'o Lantern page! I enjoyed the visit and really liked what I saw - particularly those ways to not carve a pumpkin as I'm a bit zero at pumpking carving!

I might have a go but it won't be as sensational as the extreme pumpkin carving featured here! This lens definitely gets me in the Halloween mood.
