This whole article just reeks of some nasty cultural appropriation. People's cultures are not costumes - it's just as unacceptable to dress up as a "sexy Geisha" and mock a very pure tradition as it is to run around with a freakin' Native Headdress.

For some information on how this practice is harmful to groups of people who are continually oppressed or marginalized, look up the term cultural appropriation.

I went as a Playboy geisha two years ago and this Halloween as a samurai geisha. I had a holder to wear two katanas on my back and a geisha wig. It was so much fun! Did I mention both costumes cost me less than 30 bucks on ebay? Great lens!

I like the women's Geisha costumes best. The Geisha makeup tutorial was really helpful, too. Blessed**
