Updated on December 6, 2013

Its a Jungle Safari Party!

Who doesn't love jungle animals or GOING WILD at a party? Boys, Girls, young or old; This page is devoted to creating a wild animal themed Safari Party for you, your birthday kid or anyone else who loves some jungle fun!

I designed this line of invitations for a friend's boy's birthday. He wanted zebras, giraffes, monkeys and lions. I was happy to oblige. The best thing is there is tons of great decorating items, favors, inflatables, decorations, party ware and gifts that fits the theme. We had a blast pulling it all together... and hope others can benefit from our finds.

Safari Party Games

Welcome to the Jungle - We've got fun & games!

Depending on the child's age, you can adapt these games to different skill levels.

-Safari Hunters - Hide a bunch of wrapped candy & plastic jungle animals around the room. Give each child a bag for "Collecting their specimens," and send them off on safari.

-Monkey, Monkey, Ape! --A jungle version of duck, duck, goose where, for added hilarity, the child who is it has to act out the "Ape" role once she chooses her target.

-Zologists -Tell the kids they're going on a safari. Have a bunch of age appropriate clues ready that describe various animals such as "I am the king of the jungle." Read them off and have the kids write their answers on a notepad. See how many each child "bags" (gets right).

-Archeologist -- If you have a sand box, hide a bunch of toy treasures and let the kids dig.

-Pass the Poison -- A version of Hot Potato where the kids stand in a circle and pass around a rubber snake as quickly as possible - so as not to be "bitten" until the music turns off. The one holding the snake when the music is off has been "bitten" and has to sit out. The last standing wins! Try some fun music like "Jungle Boogie" by Kool & The Gang, "Jungle Love" from Steve Miller band or "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns n Roses.
