Kurio Family Friendly Tablet Review

Updated on December 5, 2013

My daughters are getting too old for Leap Frog tablets and vTech tablets so I wanted to get my daughters a family friendly tablet that lets them get on the internet, play educational games, watch movies, listen to music, and keep them entertained for hours.

My daughter Lauren (age 8) received the new Kurio 10s Android Family Tablet for her birthday and really fell in love with her new tablet! Everyday after I pick her up from daycare, she gets home and first thing she does is get on her Kurio tablet and play her games. When she wants to go on her kid friendly websites, she uses the WiFi from my cell phone to log on.

The Kurio 10s Android Family Tablet is a great product that both you and your kids can easily use. This 10-inch tablet is easy to view and allows you to set controls so that your kids can’t use the tablet to gain access to harmful websites and apps. It comes preloaded with many apps including several educational ones so your kids can use the tablet to learn things in a fun way.

Since kids often throw items around and aren't always careful with them, the Kurio tablet comes with a silicone bumper already put on it to protect it from your kids abuse. You always have the option of taking the bumper off, which makes this already slim tablet even more slim. On each side of the screen lays high quality speakers that bring apps, music and websites to life. At the top of the tablet you will find a camera your kids can use to take pictures while playing with friends or on a family vacation.

You will find that the user interface of this device is easy for you to use and hard for your kids to mess up. When you turn on the tablet for the first time you will have to set up a password to access your parental controls. After that you are required to enter the password every time the tablet is turned on, thus preventing your kids from using it when you don't want them to be able to.

Since now my youngest daughter (age 6) is growing tired of her vTech tablet, she has requested to get the new Kurio 7' tablet to be just like her sister. When we go on our family road trips, I look forward to peace and quiet because my daughters will be so into their new tablets.
